Bday lunch at Wa-I. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, medium intensity, gold colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of pineapple, baked apples. Developed. On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of citrus lemon confit, baked apple, pineapple, apricot. Long finish. Goes downhill with more air developing more caramel notes and oxidized/dead by evening time. I wish others better luck with their aged bottles of Fontaine Gagnard whites.

Pronounced nose intensity with notes of chrysanthemum tea, vanilla, toast, honey suckle, caramel. Medium+ acidity. Golden yellow in colour. Will not improve. Drink up.

White burgs at Wu's.: White Burgs at Wu's. A Criots! Served next to the 2012 Fontaine-Gagnard Batard, this is very different - white fruit on the nose, and a remarkable amount of tension with lively acidity, white fruit with some stone fruit on the finish too. The only complaint perhaps is that the finish was a touch short, but this was a fabulous bottle of wine and what I look for in white burgundy. I love 2011 whites and this was probably my second favorite wine of the night. Will need to look at Fontaine-Gagnard.

Very oaky, buttery, and some popcorn. Modernist I guess and hard to place as Burgundy. There is apple and stone fruit underneath. After Raveneau, Roulot, Dauvissat, and PYCM, this seems very bold and heavy but not without merits.
