No sediment. Nice ruby color. A bit of fruit (cherry, blueberry) up front. Nice long finish. Balanced but with a pleasant chewiness. I will try again tomorrow to see if it mellows further. This 2008 vintage can stay in cellar - hold or drink now. My first experience with Forman - I'm a fan and hope later vintages are as well made. |

But, we did a PnP over the weekend and it wasnt the same OMG tasting. Maybe it's closed down for a bit? Don't get me wrong, it was still great drinking, but not like I remember for the first 6 bottles. I thought over the course of the night with some air it would improve. I will wait to open other bottles. |

Fruity, smooth, delicious (chocolate, cherry). Not overly complex but we all enjoyed and wish I had more... so, I bought a case today for "every day" drinking this year. Good price point ($44 with free shipping) for "every day" wine. |

I thought it would be a bargain, coming from lastbottle marathon, but just a plain old $20 bottle of wine, and I've had better $20 wine. Like they say, 2016 mediocre bottle wine is still a mediocre bottle of wine in 2023. PnP started off musty nose, alcohol-forward, long sour finish... only thing good for is to add to gravy and to get a buzz. |

2/25/2023 - THREECHEERSFORTHERED Likes this wine: 91 pointsHad two bottles of 2003 in two days. Both were delicious. First bottle was drank with Friday night pizza. I took a sniff and sip when I first opened, but waited 2 hours until drinking. Opened second bottle, but only drank half. Drank second half next day. No decanting done. The only hint that the bottles are 20 years old is a slight bit of sediment. They were well taken care of; kudos to Zachys. Beautiful dark ruby red color that is typical of Geyserville in its youth. Nose is earthy, leather, tobacco. Tannins are mellowed, wine a bit acidic, strong alcohol presence, feels like the bottles could be held a few more years and still hold their own. From other reviews, I was afraid this vintage would be a bust this late in its life, but still a lot of life and I am pleased. Can't wait to open another bottle! |
