An excellent bottle, finally balanced and having been a little underwhelmed by some of the bottles I've drunk recently, it exceeded my expectations.

A deep ruby fruit bomb, blackberry and black plum with some vanilla, toast and charred wood. Silky smooth tannins, quite balanced. 15.5% alcohol, but not overpowering.

Full bodied, some cherry.

It didn't seem quite ready on day 1, but by the time it reached day 3, it had become a powerful, black fruit bomb. Very full bodied and well balanced.

A really interesting wine, on first mouthful, not very attractive, but subsequently it offers many nuanced aromas and flavours.

A rather disturbing medium gold colour.

The gewurtz gives lovely floral notes and spice and with the food, the riesling seemed to provide some lovely citrus aftertaste.

We paired with grilled salmon fillets, avocado olive and lime, mushrooms and eggplant. Without the avocado, it paired really well, but the acid in the avocado seemed to cause a bitter aftertaste with the wine.

Definitely some orange marmalade on the nose and medium+ acidity.

As another reviewer said, it's good for a glass and to share with 4-5 people, but having had this with food, it is a food wine and it's easy to keep the whole bottle for oneself.

Balance: .5, Length 1, Intensity 1, Complexity 1

It's hard to mark this down on balance, but without food, it seems to battle against itself.

This is drinking well now, but has potential for further ageing. Unfortunately it's the only one I have...

A deep garnet with intense leather aroma. Earthy with mushrooms and still some red and black fruits, red plum and blackberry.

Medium tannins have softened and are elegant. Dry, medium acid and alcohol. Full body with medium+ finish.

Beautifully balanced and smooth.

I was expecting a little more having had the 2019 which was magnificent, but it was very balanced and perhaps was a poor pairing with the food (chicken in peanut sauce)

This was an exceptional port, that hugely exceeded my expectations. Still some red in the glass, caramel and nuts. Almost like a tawny, without being too sweet. Many layers and lots of things going on, too much for me to describe

Still medium ruby, with perhaps a hint of garnet creeping in at the edges. Decanted for about 90 minutes, not much sediment.

Pronounced intensity on the nose, with cooked blackberry, red and black plum, mulberry and with a floral/blossom nose. Vanilla, cloves, smoke, coffee and chocolate blending into a heady perfume, with some leather, game and a little prune.

Dry, medium+ acidity, medium, soft tannins, high alcohol, full bodied with pronounced flavour intensity.

Cola and blackberry and cooked black cherry, with coffee, chocolate and burnt wood on the palate.

I gave this Balance 1, length 1, intensity 1, complexity 1 which makes it an outstanding wine.

Drank at a dinner with a burger, topped with pulled beef.

Fine pairing. These Coonawarra cab savs are wonderful and this is an excellent example. I spoke to Parker at the Sydney Coonawarra Roadshow and asked which of the 10, 12 or 13 vintages they recommend to drink now and this was they choice.

Beautifully integrated oak, bringing vanilla to the wine. Blackcurrant, cassis and other black fruits.

Long finish and drinking beautifully now, but has a long life ahead

Julian Castagna stressed that this shouldn't be drunk too cold and a label on the bottle reiterates that. The mouse seemed bigger perhaps as a result and less fine.

It felt more like drinking a red wine with fizz rather than a sparkling red wine, if that makes sense. Full bodied and lots of deep, intense black fruits. Nicely balanced and enjoyable, but for a sparkling shiraz, I'd probably go with the Seppelt Show Reserve, the Rockford Black or Primo's Joseph.

Medium to deep ruby, aromas of sour cherries, raspberry cordial and rose petals. Body medium+, soft tannins and high acidity. The palate primarily bright fresh fruit, some tertiary starting to develop, some forest floor and a bit of leather.

Very enjoyable, perhaps a little heavy for the grilled salmon, but certainly not totally overpowering.

Slightly funky nose - not sure what's going on, some ripe fruits with a hint of honey on the nose.
Food pairings: Great with fried shrimps and squid. Baked barramundi, Also paired really well with a tomato based pulled pork pasta dish. The oily heaviness giving it sufficient weight with the tomato sauce.
Beautifully balanced, with enough acid to make the 14.5% alcohol not apparent.
