Wednesday, August 15, 2012 - Decanted for three hours before service, very fine sediment on the decant. In the glass, deep saturated reddish-purple. On the nose, currants and crushed blackberries. On the palate, still somewhat tannic, but with a relatively silky mid-palate, dark fruit, a bit of coffee and a bit of damp earth, subtle peppery notes, and a moderately long finish. I suspect 2-3 years in the cellar will take the edges off.
