Tuesday, February 26, 2008 - Californian wines (FOF): Dark red color with a brick red hue. Rustic black currant fruit, tobaco and some licorise on the nose. A good deal of fruit first, but it is gaining a lot of complexity on the midpalate, with notes of dark chocolate and licorise. Good structure and superb balance. Amazing length, and it remains really elegant even under the intensity and power. A really good wine, that needs more time.
