Friday, July 4, 2008 - Trip to Rob and Carol's (Huntington Beach, CA): lives up to the hype for sure. opened to celebrate my brother's engagement and this lived up to the occassion. toasty yellow colored with just an intoxicating nose of meyer lemons, white flowers, fresh peachers, rasberry, toast and hazelnut. immensely complex nose and the palate even more so. this wine has tremendous acidity and power, yet seems to remain elegant and restrained at the same time. lemon zest, chalk, almond, toasted bagel and rose petal flavors just blast all over the palate. the finish is seemingly endless. it will surely age well, and should be aged for at least several years. however, the power and hardcore concentration this wine packs now is quite amazing.
