95 Points

Thursday, November 25, 2021 - Thanksgiving day. This bottle was long time resident in my cellar, a gift from a friend. I thought this dinner was as good an excuse as any to open it. Medium chill, drank pre and post dinner - over about 2.5 hours.

Medium gold color. Bubbles were fined and still youthful - fresh over the time we drank it. Crisp nose showing citrus, brioche, almond. Palate repeats adding some orchard fruit, lemon zest, toast, batonnage. Chalky mineral notes through the mid and back palate. Smooth texture, refined.

I don't have the palate experience with Champagne that I do with still wines, hard for me to make educated comparisons to other vintages or comparable producers. This seems to be nicely aged while still showing the crispness and effervescence of a younger sparkling wine. Beautiful showing, glad I decided to open it!
