Friday, February 17, 2012 - Decanted. This needs some time (a few hours) to open up and show. Dark purple color. No sediment in the bottle. Nose was funky and predominantly earthy upon opening, but after an hour the fruit started to shine through. Black cherry, licorice, cedar, possible cinnamon. Palate is medium to full, smooth, balanced. Dry subtle finish. A very different style of Merlot. More old world, nice, special wine. 5,13,14,6=88
