Sunday, April 26, 2020 - This is just a wonderful example of how good - and ageworthy - red wines from the Loire-region are. This is nothing but a classic Cabernet Franc in a slightly modern style, that is: without the underripe aromas of green peppers that growers have claimed are "authentic". Deep ruby, almost violet. Is this 10 years old? Nose is reminding me of classified Bordeaux; blackcurrant, red cherries, some wet earth and leather. Still, it is fresher and more "spicey" than a Medoc-wine. Medium to full bodied attack, high acidity, fine grained tannins, lots of red fruits and cherries in the mouth (no blackcurrant here!), and a fresh and cleansing aftertaste with fine grained tannins and good fruit. This is clearly a wine for food, given the hefty structure of acidity and tannins. Perfect with a roasted chicken (or any other white meat). Believe it or not, but this wine is still too young. Keep for another 3-5 years, or drink it with food.

4/26/2020 12:01:00 PM - fun, and helpful note. I agree, and long ago I set my (preferred) drink window at 2023-2037. fwiw.
