Tuesday, August 19, 2014 - On pulling the cork, this wine was overwhelmingly bretty. Color is good: deep purple. With time some of the Brett blows off, and you find a nose of framboise liqueur with just a residual hint of fresh sawdust. On the palate, the fruit has a firmness, and there is a significant bitter note that works well against the tannic backdrop. Still, this is not a great success for Janasse.
