98 Points

Sunday, December 31, 2023 - New Years Eve, with Valerie at home. Good excuse to open this bottle, first tasting of this designate from 2018 vintage. Chilled, decanted for 60 minutes. Allowed to warm a bit in the decanter

Medium gold color. Nose showing citrus, melon, vanilla, mineral. Rich palate of candied citrus, butterscotch, ginger and honey....a lot going on here. Depth of the wine was impressive, evolving through the mid palate with nuance and secondary flavors. Full body and long finish.

Really spectacular on this evening, great at this point with probably another 10+ years ahead of it. Parker/Lisa Perotti gave this 100 points...obviously this is in the eye of the beholder/tongue of the taster...:) From this showing I can see why the rating was given, nothing lacking here - assuming one likes the style. Looking forward to seeing how this develops. Only holding back a couple points as it may get better?

Decant makes a difference with Aubert Chardonnay (in my experieince), this one worthy of having soime patience
