Wednesday, August 19, 2009 - German Rieslings (Woodfire Grill): Straw colored. Strong and expansive nose of sulphur components. After waiting and swirling this just would not blow off. Some lychee and petrol in there. I seriously was thinking this was flawed, but when I finally got around to tasting it there was no trace of anything off at all on the palate. On the contrary, this was fresh, pure, clean fruit: apple, peach, with a bright acidity. I would hold this spät for a few years and see if it integrates. If it does I'd say it's a 91-92 point wine, but if the bouquet won't come together it would be an unsuccessful effort. Will not rate for now. 8.5% alcohol.
