Wednesday, December 6, 2017 - Champagne Showdown: 1995 v. 1996 (Atera): Savoury and bready nose, buttered popcorn. Baked buns. Oxidizing much faster than the ‘96 in the next glass. Palate is still delicious and has nicely developed apple and orchard fruit. Better on palate than nose, but a mildly off bottle. In better condition I would guess 93+ as the 1996 in the next glass is kicking ass.
