Pausing for the Cause Fundraiser and Dinner (Obelix - Chicago IL): So rich with good power. Showcases both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir beautifully, with baked apple and berry compote both well represented. Great depth. Fully mature without coming across as tired at all.

Ripe and baked apple with toasted walnuts, baguette, and faint butterscotch, this is rich and dense, while still vibrant enough. Much better vs my previous bottle from a year ago, but not as good as it was a decade ago.

This wine had a gold center and medium effervescence. The medium intensity nose put forth hazelnuts, lemon, vanilla, and minerals.
In the mouth, this wine was flavorful and bold with great richness, firm acidity, and great length.
I wouldn't say this was oxidative but this bottle certainly tasted fully mature. It was drinking nicely but did not have the class, freshness and complexity of the 1996. Drink up

Like Lena Horne at 40 mature but still electric!
All the positives in terms of depth and length and body but oh so vibrant!

Holiday Champagne Gala (Park Ridge Country Club): In 95/96/02 vertical. Great richness and density, but getting tired.
