Sunday, August 7, 2011 - Opened it up and was a little disappointed. Jon R, finally you have failed me. But as the bottle got some air, and I got some of the bottle, the slightly funky nose blew off, and the wine took on a little mint, a little black plum, blueberry, and a little cherry. Cherry? In a cab based wine? The mint gives way to cedar, and more plum. Definitely the high-acid end of cab, with a little greenness. Does it make me want to forsake Cal Cab? No. But the greenness reflects the Cab Franc component, and that's what it's aiming for, a more bordeaux, less fruit forward wine. I guess.
