Nez sur les mûres et une note de tabac. Bouche tout en fruit, belle structure avec un milieu de bouche bien rond. Finale longue avec des tanins arrondis. Est sur son plateau et va y demeurer quelques années encore.

Opened for 2 hrs to allow aeration. A silky cab with a nice balance of dark fruits, cherries, brambles and tobacco. If you have a bottle of this, don't wait much longer.

Mini vertical with Sophia, Alan, Andrew, and Amanda at Andrew's home. Dark ruby red. Chocolate and cigar box on the nose with hints of dark cherry. Flavor carried to the palate. Well balanced with tannins well integrated. Medium finish. I think this was drinking at its prime, so drink up. I think the 2007 has more potential, but this drank the best tonight.

Tasting at Kenwood Winery (Kenwood, California): Another awesome vintage, maybe my favorite between the three I tasted (2006, 2007, 2008). Lovely nose of cassis, fig and charcoal. Like velvet on the palate, with roasted plums, fig and black cherries. Notes of charcoal, tobacco leaf and mineral match the fruit wonderfully. It seems ready to drink yet capable of more development in the cellar. 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Malbec, 7% Cabernet Franc and 6% Petit Verdot.

This has gotten a bit better with some bottle time but its never to get much better so drink up and move on. Served with spaghetti squash and stewed tomatoes with Italian sausage and it was a decent companion.

Bought at the winery in 11/12, so provenance should be excellent. Vinturi decant, then at the table 15' later. The tannins were borderline out of balance. The black fruit and Sonoma "herbal essence" were there, but in danger of being outmuscled. Enjoyable but maybe risky to hold? Try one if you have a bunch.

This is a wine that is ready to drink and will drink well for another 5-7 years. Chocolate, dried red cherries, blueberries and cassis on the nose, followed by hints of sage. Palate is rich round mouthfeel with softer tannins and blackberries, pomegranite, green bell pepper, herbs and vanilla on the palate. A great value for the level of quality! Wine is usually released 5 years after harvest! Who is doing that in California? 89pts.

tasted one half glass non-blind at vino volo in dulles airport. having not cared for the previous vintage of this wine I was excited to try again with a new year and a fresh chance. Apparently I'm just not a fan of the house style. This presented an overpowering nose of green olives and made me really wonder if this was really a cab. certainly drinkable and quite unique, just not my favorite.

Correct mais un sucre résiduel qui dérange. On d’y fait à la longue mais pour le prix c’est décevant.

There is such a really balanced quality to Sonoma Cab. Not the flash of Napa, but in some ways more subtle!
