Light cranberry/ruby -> light ruby rim. Nose of cranberries, beetroot, some nice earthiness. Palate presented strawberries, cranberries again and forest floor. Excellent structure & acidity for such a modestly priced pinot. There are some light tannins but the amount of sweet fruit ensures good development. Lengthy finish. Is it Burgundy? No, but it is very much a pinot and at a very nice price.

This needs a few hours to breath and shed the sour nose and finish. After that it is a smooth finish; balanced fruity tart flavors and acidity. Pair or sip; great daily drinker.

This is a wine that, if you like the stereotypical Sonoma Coast PN, you'll like it. If you detest that, you'll hate it. A fair bit of the cherry coke and vanilla notes that detractors cite, some mixed red fruits. Not a lot of richness--sorry, this is not like a zin to me--but silky if a little bit thin. Some would call that Burgundian finesse, I guess. Decent aroma, a little funky with a hint of straw. Although this didn't reek of the aromas of pinot, I don't think it really smells like anything else--it's pinot, period, just not amazing pinot. It's also under $20, which is not exactly the high end of pinot.

drank more like a decent paso GSM than a "top-notch" sonoma pinot — not much sensitivity to the varietal here. however, it's tasty enough, and it was pretty much right-on for grilled meats and veggies. i'd just rather drink pinot that has more poise, and there's enough of it out there for 25 bucks a bottle, there's no reason this shouldn't be my last visitation from the banshee.

Better on Day 1; a bit too tart on the finish on Day 2. See my previous notes.
