Final bottle from a full case. Relatively evolved appearance for a 2009. Just like the bottle tasted yesterday, this is not in great shape. I can't detect any clear technical faults here, but the tannic structure just seems to have collapsed - almost vanished even. Even if it's aromatically still in pretty good nick (not too tired yet), the lack of grip on the palate makes it pretty "meh" - for want of a more scientifically correct expression. I'm done, if you have any left, I would suggest drinking this pronto or dedicating it to an upscale Boeuf Bourguignonne. Not rated.

Strangely, this comes across as rather fragile today. It's got most of the expected features of a 2009 Ambroise wine on the nose (black fruit and spicy new oak), but compared to previous bottles the palate feels much less firm and sturdy. It's aromatic and open for business, but it lacks structure and tannic grip. On the finish I think I detect a hint of carbon dioxide. Probably faulty. Not rated.

This is showing very well today. The black fruit flavours are deep and still primary, there is a lovely balance and a hint of braised red meat, the texture is sweet and silky, the phenolics are ripe, good definition and weight, spicy oak, harmonious, mature but fresh, modern style but with a mineral core, opens up well with a little aeration, good flavour intensity and length. Drink now - 2020.

Fully mature now. I think the fruit is on return now. I will drink my last bottles over the coming months. Still great value for money and a wonderful glass of Burgundy...

Ripe and sweet 2009-fruit, firm tannins, cool minerality, hint of spicy oak, clean and intense flavours, peachy top notes, hints of tertiary development. Attractive, complete, vibrant and balanced.

Another year has passed since my previous TN, time for another bottle. Has developed very gently since last year so very similar still, has perhaps lost a little flesh and developed a touch more animal tertiary aromas. But it is still a wine with delicious ripe fruit and a lovely lashing of new oak, not very detailed but complete, attractive and thoroughly satisfying. Now - 2019.

This has developed very well since last year; the oak integration is better, balance is excellent, good weight of lovely ripe and sweet fruit, vibrant freshness and minerality, attractive tannic grip, spice, starts to show some tertiary development, flavoursome; good length. Has style and finesse, punches above its weight, will be interesting to follow over the next 3-5 years.

Shows attractive spice and black pepper notes on both the nose and palate. Medium-to-full-bodied - but surprisingly powerful and unmistakably Cote de Nuits in character. Plenty of ripe, tangy raspberry and pomegranate fruit along with a lively acidity make this very enjoyable. Well-balanced and quite polished for a Villages-level CdN. 50+5+12+16+7=90

Identical to my previous note. Modern, forward and glossy but with very good typicity too - delicious freshness and minerality. Aromatic and with good length.

Wonderfully primary and sweet fruit, well-judged spicy oak; juicy, silky, adequate acidity, lovely cool minerality, modern style, rounded and smooth but does not fail to speak of its Burgundian terroir; good length, balancing tannins. Warm vintages become this wine - as is evinced by the lovely 2003. I doubt that it will close down very much, very good now but will be even better 2015 - 2020. Delicious.

Decanted 1 hour. Anise and mint of the nose along with a little earth. Still quite tight even after decanting. Tart red cherry and cranberry fruit with a little smoke and spice on the mid palate. Moderate acidity but enough to provide nice balance. Very good right now but gives the impression that it will improve over the next year or so. Good QPR at around $30 (88+ pts).

This is very impressive for $30. Rosemary, clove and bing cherry on the nose and palate. Not as disjointed as the generic bougogne rouge. Everything here is a little more layered and elegantly integrated. Very silky. I'd like to try this again in 5 years.

My first 2009 Burgundy and what a promising start, drank this over two days and it was showing much better on the second day. I did´nt really take any notes other than this was improwing the more air it got, and it was a enjoyable Burg for little $. 88-89 pts for now.
Should have this in the cellar for a good everyday Burg. . .

Previous bottle may have been an outlier. This bottle is still firm. But no need to wait much longer IMHO
