  • Drink now. Still plenty of life in it, but we don't think it's gonna get better than it is right now. Dense strawberries, plushy tannins. yum.

  • Just a deliciously balanced Pinot Noir !!
Consumed with friends at dinner, this wine really shined. I agree with my tasting note of a few months ago. My last bottle of this vintage.

  • Just like the other 2009 Littorai Pinot Noirs, this wine is spectacular and at its peak !!
A perfect cork after over a decade in the bottle, easily removed. Consumed this bottle over the course of two days. This balanced Pinot Noir showed more fruit on the first day and had softened some to reveal a wonderful depth and complexity on the second day. Medium ruby color with little to no oxidation and medium clarity. Aromas of cranberry, cherry, and spice. Flavors of black cherry, pomegranate, rhubarb and forest floor. This Pinot Noir has a medium to long finish. A balanced and flavorful Pinot Noir that may have more years of life remaining, fortunately I still have one bottle of this vintage remaining in the cellar. The great fruit from this vineyard was purchased on a by-the-acre contract. The One Acre is located on a hilltop vineyard sits at 1,600 feet elevation in the mountains northeast of Booneville in the Anderson Valley appellation in Mendocino County. Dijon 114, 777 & 828 and Swann clones planted on soils of Bearwallow loam over marine origin sandstone. All of these elements and great winemaking from Ted Lemmon combine to consistently produce a fine Pinot Noir.

  • PnP. Cellared at 58 since release. Medium ruby. Lovely nose of cherry and strawberry with some spicy red apple as well. This has a lovely winey quality on the palate, rich but intense. Seems quite young although any tannins are subsumed in the fruit. Clearly from a richer vintage so transparency is a bit buried in the fruit. I think these vines were very young, the vineyard having been replanted due to Phylloxera.Drinking very well but not a rush.

  • Ready to go, pure and silky. Not particularly big or complex, but pure red fruit with great balance and linearity.

  • lovely bottle. red fruits supported by acid and nice dry extract reminiscent of burgundy. with some air, spice and floral notes became more apparent. had nice tension to balance out the fruit. still has plenty of life ahead but drinking nicely at the moment.

  • Drinking very nicely now. While fruit forward with notes of dark cherries, strawberry and blueberries; it was all in balance. Initial sweetness on the nose that became more complex and had a slight new earth aroma to balance the fruitiness. Moderately complex, acidity and tannins supported but did not intrude. I think I'll save my other bottle for a couple of years yet but again, this one is drinking wonderfully now.

  • Not my favorite littorai bottle. Started with a sweet cherry note. Mellowed out but never really hit it's stride.

  • An elegant & ethereal PN that blends the best of CA with the more classic flavors & weightlessness of Burgundy. Complexity, class and stunning fruit purity and vineyard picked freshness. Perfuse berry and floral aromas. Lacey silky texture ala Chambolle combine with Vosne spice and power. Warning, drinking Littorai PNs can be very harmful to your wine budget! The prices keep me shy from buying every year or buying more than a few btls when I do but, when you open a btl you know exactly why you dropped $75+ on this cuvee. Littorai' s One Acre can be exquisite! Alc 13.3% If, your a Burg fanantic, like I am, you need to try Littorai PNs which reward quicker and show how great CA PNs can be, if, in a cooler climate like the Sonoma coast and the right hands like Ted Lemon's. My last One Acre and in a great spot with no hint of decline.

  • Tasting at Littorai (Sebastapol, CA): Winery tasting. A nice treat to get a library wine. The aromas here are more powerful and concentrated, with layering. Palate shows similarly -- intense with layering. Good spice. 92-94.

  • Wonderful aromatics with layers of ripe red cherries, floral, and spice notes which evolve wonderfully on the palate and long finish. Simply lovely!

  • A very nice elegant PN that blends the best of CA with the more classic flavors of Burgundy. Showing range, class and stunning fruit purity. CT says I have one more. I'm hopeful, but doubtful. PnP at Tilia tonight for the extended family. Only knock, I paid a hefty $75 for this a few years back so the current vintage is likely even more. Would love to be buying this producer for a more realistic $50ish to $65 tops. Like RHYs a few years back, at the current release prices, I'm off the bandwagon. I'll buy and drink selective Bourgogne and village level burgs instead.

  • Subtle, Soft, cherry and slightly acidic red fruit mouth. I like this wine but it defies description. I imagine sitting down to a lunch of cheese and cured meats in a small village in he Cote d' Or and this would be their non descript house wine. Nice and enjoyable with a meal and good friends.

  • a stunning bottle. deep ruby with cherries, spice, and smoke. fantastic structure to frame the fruit and spice with a velvety mouthfeel and wonderful balance of richness and aromaticity. this is one of the best littorai PNs i have ever had. this has years ahead of it but was wonderful following a 60 min slow-ox.

  • So sad!! I should have know better. This was waaay too early to open this bottle. There was only the promise of how great this wine was going to be, even after an hour of decanting, the wine was almost completely closed off. This wine will no doubt be amazing in 3-4 years, but right now, there is just not much to it. Can you say infanticide?

  • Warning, drinking a Littorai PN can be very harmful to your wine budget! The prices keep me shy from buying every year or buying more than a few btls when I do but, when you open a btl you know exactly why you dropped $75 on this wine and why its worth it. Littorai PNs like this One Acre can be exquisite! PnP, medium crimson color, perfuse fresh berry and floral nose. Just the most lacey/ silky mouthfeel around. Fruit doesn't get more vibrant and fresh than this. THis wine has Grand Cru class and power. Not unlike a great Dujac where Ted Lemmon spent some time making wine years ago.Alc 13.3% If, your a Burg fanantic, like I am, you need to try some of these Littorai PNs which reward much sooner and show how great CA PNs can be in the right hands. 2 more left for down the road.
