As suggested by another reviewer, this tastes far older than its 2009 vintage would suggest. That having been said, it held together on day two, and possibly improved slightly. Iron, earth. Very light. Not impressive, but passable. The current mid-80s score on CT seems about right.

A little bit of brown showing in the foam, but clear red color in the glass. Quite soft and caressing, uncharacteristic for Sangiovese? Recommend for those times when you need a lighter red.

PnP. Muted nose. Light bodied with medium finish, but not particularly interesting. A decent wine to drink with pasta on a weeknight although you could find equally good Chiantis for less money.

Lighter wine(color); cellar no more than 6-8 months more. Due to very poor sinuses, unable to give any helpful tasting notes. All I know is that we finished the bottle very quickly:)

This was great. I didn't reread Rimmerman's description until after the bottle was gone, but here he is spot on. Others who normally don't comment on what we drink, were positively effusive. I wish I'd bought a case.

Wow, what a color! This is practically a rose in color; the lightest Chianti I've seen, which is exciting. The aromas are absolutely sublime, and very light on their feet. Great delineation of sweet sweet ripe strawberries, rope, light gravel, light quartz, and just a slight bit of dirt clod. The lusciously soft strawberry fruit is definitely the dominate note, though. Palate entry is just as expected, as this dances high with juicy, light strawberry fruit, some dusty mushrooms and dirt, with more imposing minerality, light acid, and fairly substantial tannins considering the light frame. The finish dials up with acid, but then it goes straight into a earthy mineral note, then revealing some soft strawberry. I love how the finish takes distinct steps of evolution after swallowing. What a fantastic wine, and a real breath of fresh air after some juiced up Chanti's I've had lately. Nothing about this tastes artificial.. this tastes as pure an expression of grapes as you'll likely come across in Chianti; you just need to pay attention, as this wine is a whisperer. Beautiful and lithe. I'm disappointed I only bought one; Rimmerman's description was spot on this wine.

Not sure why I keep opening these...part of me wants to finish the 6 pack to be done with it as I would be affraid to bring this to a party for my worst enemy. Opened & double decanted through vinturi in hopes this would improve the wine. Interestingly, the fragrance coming off the wine while doing this was enticing....very floral, some oak, a touch of vanilla & dusty red fruit. That was the best part. The palate just seems washed out with no fruit & no complexity. It has high acidity, no front, mid or finish on the palate. It's almost like drinking vitamin water....it's water with some artificial flavor added. Sorry to be so harsh here, but it just doesn't impress.

Weird wine! PNP....not much on the nose put of the gate. Very light in color and palate.....reminds me of a rained out and/or cold vintage. Red delicate fruit and spice on the nose and palate. There is oak and damp earth and leather. Oddly, I get a sense of heat with just 12.5% alcohol. But, that could be the outofbalance natures the wine. It's almost like they said holy crap, our fruit Is washed out, let's throw a ton of sugar and oak chips at it. Will try again, but not a good 1st impression.

Day 1- Not offering much aromatically. A strange burned match note with some red fruit and orange peel. Very light bodied with austere flavors and textures and a little red fruit showing. Short to medium finish.
Day 2- The nose remains consistent. The palate has picked up weight and some spicy red fruit has showed up. Still high in acidity with some grippy tannin. Unremarkable finish.

Dont wait on this. What a cool wine, with plenty of spice and complexity on nose and mouth but with the weight and body of a feather. Rimmerman nails my palate again.

Better bottle than the last one. Fine with pizza, held up quite well overnight.

Garagiste selection
Color: pale brown-red
Nose: attractive light intensity; warm soft aromas of dried fruit and tar; maybe some leather
Body/flavor: light body; soft complex flavors of dried fruits and warm spices
Aftertaste: short finish
Reminded me of Chianti for the 1970s... paired beautifully with roast chicken on a late summer evening in Vermont!

Not giving much tonight, could be storage problem but cork looked OK. Towards 1+hr, some floral notes appear, still quite primary.
