Still a delightful Pinot Noir !! I agree with my tasting notes of the last year and a half. May be just past peak. A perfect cork after over a decade in the bottle. Consumed over two days. A balanced and flavorful Pinot Noir from Leras Family Vineyard in the Russian River Valley appellation. This age worthy wine just starting to fade. The last bottle in the cellar of this vintage. Great fruit selection and a great winemaking effort by Ben Papapietro.

A really delightful Pinot Noir !! I agree with my tasting note of 8 months ago. A perfect cork after over a decade in the bottle. Consumed over two days. A balanced and flavorful Pinot Noir from Leras Family Vineyard in the Russian River Valley appellation. This age worthy wine may have more life remaining. I still have one bottle remaining in the cellar and will drink it in the next year or so to validate my notes. Great fruit selection and a great winemaking effort by Ben Papapietro.

Still alive and kicking. Seems like the spice notes are surprisingly a bit less than I imagine they were young, but the red fruit is there and has picked up a sweet note. Good acidity.

Still tasting really good right now !! A perfect cork after a decade in the bottle. Consumed over two days. This balanced wine showed more fresh fruit on the first day and on day it had softened with increased depth and integrated complexity. Deep ruby color with no oxidation, clarity medium. Aromas of pomegranate and cranberry. Flavors of bing cherry, raspberry with a hint of forest floor. This Pinot Noir has a medium finish. A balanced and flavorful Pinot Noir from Leras Family Vineyard in the Russian River Valley appellation. This age worthy wine may have more life remaining. I still have a couple of bottles remaining in the cellar and will drink them in the next year or so to see how they are holding up. Great fruit selection and a great winemaking effort by Ben Papapietro.

modern style, but restrained. Not many tertiary notes at this point. Black/red fruit, some light funkiness. medium/heavy body for a pinot with a really silky mouthfeel. Strong fruit flavors, mostly red fruit, strong minerality, light tannins, low-moderate acid. Has that rare "delicious" quality that is hard to quantify or explain. Still has many, many years.

Big red fruit flavors of cherry and raspberry, with some strawberry as the bottle opened up. Very silky in the mouth. Reddish purple color. A little chocolate on the finish and some earthiness. Very big wine. Fortunately we were having it with smoked pork--probably would have been too big for most pairings.

Cranberry color with cedar, cola, and chocolate (mocha?) on the nose. This wine is juicy and luscious. If silk were liquid, this would be it. It's smooth, soft, and well-integrated, especially for a wine of this age. All of the flavors found on the nose follow in the mouth along with high cherry notes. It has a medium finish. Papapiertro Perry never disappoints, and this is no exception.

Pretty medium-garnet in glass, with come-hither aromas of red fruit and spice that beg for a gulp. Palate offers strawberry and Bing cherry at entry, evolving into notes of rhubarb and allspice. Rich in mouth and finishes long, with a lingering strawberry flavor.

There is a combination of spice, berry fruit and an interesting sweetness in the taste of this wine. I'm not sure I like the bit of sweetness that you get at the end...one of the more interesting (in that it's a bit different) PPs . Interesting in a good way.

Pinot-funk nose, full, spicy on the tongue. Meaty and mushroomy. Nice finish. Bought two of this wine to ship back. Definitely worth it. (other choices were the Elsbree PN and the Peters PN)

14.5% alcohol. Black cherry color. Fragrant nose of black cherry and blackberry, with baking spice backing it up. In the mouth, ripe and smooth, with bursting berry fruit and a nice spike of acidity. A nicely made wine. Appealing now. A-

Producer's Notes: Deep ruby color opens to a very aromatic nose of black cherry, cola and toast. Sweet black cherry and cranberry carries through to a mid-palate that is velvety smooth with notes of minerals and toast. Well-balanced, complex with a long lasting, fruit driven finish.

Found this bottle (thought they were all gone!) and it was excellent with roast chicken. Cherry and tart cranberry with a smooth finish.

Better than the last bottle - the fruit has calmed some, with a bit of cherry tart, rich but balanced. True RRV pinot.

Excellent bottle - but the cherry pie notes made it very hard to pair. Opened up a little after an hour.

The fruit's a bit outsized given the overall package. A little difficult to manage with food.

One of my favorites but did not pair with our Thanksgiving Turkey dinner as well as I would have liked. Normally complex flavors were muted.
