Needs time to breath. A bit acidic, not tannic but it balances the wine. Not sure where this will go with age but it is drinking well now with a moderate decant. The wine looks purple colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. The flavor is mocha and forest floor...very earthy. It's not a big Cali cab but it is a really good example of what I like about whitehall. The body is medium/full. The wine has linear texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has high acidity.

Pretty good wine for the price. Needs some time to open up - very closed and bitter straight out of the bottle. Not very complex but also nothing objectionable.

Day 1, 1 hour decant, just nothing. Bitter, closed. Day 2 after a recork, very typical Napa cab, dark fruit, nice tannins mellowed from the first day and a nice 08 acidity. Happy with this and the confirmation the 08's need a little more rest...for me

Red fruit (mostly cherry), medium body & opacity, a bit of forest floor with hints of mushroom. The right amount of toasty oak for the weight. The finish is short and there is a drying element that some more age will probably cure.

Deep ruby color. Cherry, currant, and some smoke on the nose. Red fruit with a bit of chocolate on the palette. Decanted in bottle for 30 minutes. Needs more aging.

Black cherry hue. Muted nose opens up to blackberry, cocoa, cedar, and eucalyptus aromas. Sweet, smooth, ripe, almost raisiny on the palate, with dried currant and milk chocolate flavors, and a touch of granite on the moderate finish. Lacks depth and complexity but agreeable nonetheless.

I was surprised by the nice acidity, crisp tannins, but youthful fruit and medium bodied. This has a lot of potential but it is a bit oaky on the finish.

Nose of rhubarb and alcohol, with a little creme de cassis. Also on the palate, allspice and jammy rhubarb. On the palate, Some tannins on the back-end. Drinking nicely now, but will be more integrated in about 2-3 years.

Dark ruby color. Earthy blackberry nose. Tastes of blackberry, cherry, currant, and leather. Fine tannins. Fruit forward finish with nice complexity in the finish. Textbook Napa Cabernet Sauvignon.

Beautiful wine that has suave early signs but still youthful and could use some cellaring. Decanted three hours, and recommend good breathing time for this wine. On the nose, complex and deep, tight notes of currant with blueberry notes, cedar, some eucalyptus and some coffee bean. Plenty of integrated oak spices and notes. Incense. On the palate, it has a medium plus body, full but round-edged tannins, medium plus acidity and alcohol. Balanced. Chalky palate that carries long. Goregous wine that drinks well now with some aeration, but could really use 3-5 years. Recommend.

Needed an hour or so but became a solid 90. Fine fruit and tannins and a decent finish. Should be good for another 3-5 years.

This one won the price/performance award for the evening over the other Cabernets.

Oaky nice and dry. Not as big and voluptuous a I would have liked for a $33 cab. Really good but not as big as other high dollar cabs.
