Nice daily drinker. Medium to full body, dry but with soft tannins. Some blackberry and cedar and some spice on the backend. A little more fruit is apparent with air. A classic napa cab in the $14 -16 price point. Somewhat better than the average $15 high volume cali cabs.

Very heavy wine with over extracted and much too dense and jammy cab fruit. Tannins and oak, fully packed Napa Cab bomb. I did not enjoy this very much at all.

This was ok. I thought it was a little overpriced for $17. Decent enough though. Dark crimson color with some brick around the edges. Big dark red fruit flavors, with a big presence of acidity and a peppery element.

Good Cab. Decanted & drank right away. Blackberry & boysenberry fruit, light licorice & vanilla. Smooth with light tannins on short finish. Easy drinker.

This is a go to bottle for easy drinking. Avalon's Napa offering always impresses for its price point. How can you go wrong at 10 bucks! I was able to order a case and shipping was only $10, done! Of course the structure is lacking and the finish is forgettable. But you get more than what you pay for in this bottle. Order some pizza, rent movie, and enjoy!

87-88 for me. Agree with a previous note: "sweet red fruit, vanilla and mocha flavors, and a fine spine of tannins to keep it together. Fair for the price"
Not much to add, enough complexity to make this interesting a tasty. Decent food match. Has good QPR.

Consistent with previous notes, however substantial improvement in balance and intensity on 2nd and 3rd evening open. Suspect that this will drink much better in another year.

Current release shows exceptional QPR, much like earlier-vintage Avalon Napas. Pretty nose of black fruit and some tar, deep purple in color, not quite opaque. Palate opens with some heat, shows cassis and black fruit, cedar, loam and some pleasant herbaciousness on the back palate, with a pleasant medium-long finish, good tannic structure and enough stuffing to indicate 5-6 years of improvement with age. Unexpected complexity at this pricepoint; will tuck a couple of bottles away for future tasting.

Dark ruby colored wine that is clear and day bright with good concentration and medium viscosity. On the nose red fruits upfront, witn raspberry, and cherry. other fruit aromas include blackberry. Fresh with a touch of oak, earth and spice. On the palate, darker fruits are more expressive with blackberry, dark cherry and black plum. A bit of spice in the middle, and on the finish, vanillia, cocoa and a touch of heat, (even after decant). tannins hang on in the finish along with the alcohol.

More peppery and herbal than expected, almost reminiscent of a Syrah. Medium+ tannins, dark fruits, still a bit sharp.

Nice cab nose.
Strong red fruit. Tannins do not go well with fruit. Fruit forward. Medium length.
