Ruby starting to brick around the edges. Black fruit and cedar dominate the nose, with gun flint, saddle leather and spice notes. Plenty of merlot fruit on the dense and structured, but not tannic (unlike the ‘96 and ‘97 of this wine) palate. And a long and silky finish. Impressive effort.

Opened and decanted for 30 minutes prior to service. It had a really good nose showing tobacco and cedar but still retaining some fruit fragrance. Soft and smooth on the palate with very good balance. It finished with a medium-long finish.

Rosemary and mint nose. Rich palate with still solid fruit, chocolate, and tobacco. Great with a steak with blue cheese, and potato galette. I would say it is peaking now, but could easily keep a few more years.

Served blind. However the nose and taste was typical Bordeaux and both Craig and David picked it as such. I love the nose and tannins are resolved. Oak under control. The wine is drinking well now.

Dark ruby, light rim in appreance. Minty, chocolate, floral, green pepper, rustic, cherry on the nose. Medium bodied, velvety and plush mouth feel and refreshing acidity. Balanced palate, medium bodied, with notes of red fruits, truffle. Medium finish of tobacco smoke, plum and mushroom. This wine is in the drinking window now, enjoy.

Still showing plenty of dark fruit, with a touch of oak influence. Really opened up nicely over time, with some notes of herbs, pencil lead and cedar. Should continue to improve for a while and would probably benefit from decanting.

Tannins are well integrated and drinking beautifully for me. Has not evolved more than the last bottle but just as pretty. Floral, herby and nicely balanced.

Good dark fruit, with just a bit of flowers and herbs. Probably would have opened up more given time and may get more interesting with a few more years.

More structure than the last bottle. Excellent Pomerol with silky ripe dark fruit with earth tones, violet, and a smooth finish. Somewhat tannic at first but mellowed out quickly with air in the glass.

Well aged, slight bricking at the rims. Nose had some initial funk that blew off with air. Medium bodied with some tannins still peeking through the fruit. Nose of preserved cherry, rose and hints of tar. Palate was full of red and black fruit but was bone dry. Not as complex as expected but balance was excellent.

Soft sweet blue/black fruit with hints of earth and dried tea leaves. Not particularly complex but well balanced and smooth. Tannins seem to be mostly gone / smoothed out on the finish. Not sure if this would benefit with age, perhaps even decline. Drink up.

Decanted for a couple of hours. Simply divine. Incredible depth and character, silky smooth finish. Ripe fruits, resolved tannins. Medium weight, but danced on the palate. A great experience.

Wonderful floral nose, along with notes of cherries and crushed blackberries. The palate did not disappoint after the nose. Great balance, smooth and integrated flavor. The fruit is great and full flavored. The finish was long. This is clearly a wine for sipping and socializing. It would likely become overpowered if consumed with a meal.

This was delicious tonight! Mature red/brown color. Outstanding nose with dark fruit, licorice. Excellent silky palate and fairly long finish. Still tannic with evidence of alcohol on the nose though so I think it could benefit from 1 or 2 more years in the cellar! Great wine.

Beautiful, earthy, prototypically French wine. Luscious and conversation-stopping. A real treat for Bordeaux aficionados and if you can still find it at a great price, worth the investment.

Complex nose of dark fruit, licorice, coffee and soil. On palate, very well integrated, luscious dark fruit and secondary flavours. Long aftertaste. Tannins almost nonexistent. Extremely enjoyable Pomerol.

a recent close-out purchase at a steep discount, this shows a fair amount of oak, along with good depth and some wet stone/mineral qualities. still a deep purple and "chocolatey" with some drying tannin on the finish. well-made and appealing in its style...but hoping further bottle age will reduce the oak flavors....by no means a sure thing.

Deep red in color. Nose of tobacco, underbrush, licorice, and dark fruits. Still quite tannic and angular but plenty of fruits and minerals. Needs more time but has the potential to develop into something really good.

Dark red. Dark red on the nose too, with some brambly earth. A little tight and one dimensional. Needs time. Likely will improve somewhat, but the local price ($100) is way too high for what this is. A decent wine.

good potential but still too young. Great Pomerol minerals, you can can taste the lime stone its grown it. Silky front and mid palate; some would say it lacks fruit but thats not the case as it's all minerals and red fruit. The finish is the problem, hopefully it will sort its self out. Too much oak or at least it has yet to integrate. The tannins are a little rough, not bad, just not part of a smooth overall experience. This wine needs to come together and should in another few years.

Ruby in color with a chocolatey, herbal aroma. Medium bodied and soft to the touch. Dark fruits with emphasis on cherries marry well with the earthy backbone. Round with supple taninns for a superb balance. Drink now or hold.

A plesant wine with medium body, soft tannins, good nose of black fruit+minerals, lacking a bit in complexity but a good value for the $.
