Light yellow colour. The nose and palate are as one apart from a hint of a tinned pineapple aroma. Otherwise grapefruit, peach, melon, butterscotch, cashew oak. Great depth of flavour and a finish that lingers for some time. Very good.

Ben's duck supper (Ben and Estella's place, Parramatta): Stone fruit, peach, slight butter and spice on the nose. In the mouth there are slightly talc textured tannins, hints of butter and the fruit as per the nose. It does, perhaps, lack a little acidity. A hint of non-intrusive alcohol on the long finish.

Father's Day 2013 Chardonnay (Hunters Hill): Will rewrite this note at a later date. Given the performance of the Leeuwin and Savaterre left this wine in their wake, and this was also the youngest wine of the three.

I remember 5 or so years ago when Pierro was the hero for big worked MR Chardonnay. No longer. This was tightly coiled, light on its feet and although there was some oak showing, it was well integrated. More vibrant and mineral than I remember in the past and better for it.

Christmas supper with the Wine Ark boys (Fix St. James, 111 Elizabeth Street, Sydney): Medium minus intensity aromas of citrus and stone fruit, spicy. In the mouth it's slightly savoury citrus but quite alcoholically warm and spicy on the finish. Hmm

Remains tight, on the leaner side, but with plenty of thrust. Needs time.
