I pulled this wine out of storage after a decade and it is drinking great! Popped and poured...the cork was in amazing shape, zero bricking and consistent color to the edge. Strawberry and red fruit on the nose and very well balanced acidity and alcohol. Ripe cherry on the palate with a long 60 second finish. I think this wine could easily go another 3-5 years and potentially a decade if stored correctly!

Crimson in color. 14.9% ABV. Stunning nose of red fruits, cloves, sarsaparilla and forest floor. Medium to full bodied with exquisite acidity. Very elegant. Cherry, cranberry, earth and minerals on the palate. Tremendous length on the finish. This Pinot Noir has taken on some appealing old world characteristics since I last tried it many years ago. Really delightful. Best over the next several years.

Crimson in color. 14.9% ABV. Big nose of ripe red fruits, cloves, cola and flowers. Medium body with medium acidity. More ripe, rich fruits that I expect from Dehlinger. Bing cherries, sarsaparilla, baking spices and earth on the palate. Tremendous length on the finish. Very good but lacking the finesse and elegance I expect. I'll be curious what this looks like with another 2-3 years in the cellar.

Superb nose of black and blue fruit with a hint of salty sea smoke. The color is a translucent red with brick orange at the rim in the glass. The fairly well extracted fruit is enveloped in a quasi-syrupy mouthfeel with black tea and non-effervescent cola flavors. The acidity is appropriately balanced and the initial pour has a long mid-palate and finish of Amarone cherry flavors. The wine has actually become more concentrated and extracted with the black cherry flavors exuding exponentially and filling out the palate in all the points of the compass. This is our last 2009 Goldridge and we salute the genius of Tom Dehlinger.

Crimson in color. 14.9% ABV. Gorgeous nose of red fruits, cloves and wet forest floor. Fruit forward and full bodied with plenty of acidity. Black cherry, strawberry, mushrooms and spice on the palate. Great length on the finish. Just further proof that Dehlinger got its swagger back after a few rough vintages in the mid 2000's. Fantastic Pinot Noir. Best over the next 2-4 years.

Medium red color, needs at least an hour to open up, very fragrant black cherry and cola nose, dense rich cherry fruit, cola sweetness, lengthy fruit laden finish. Served with roast chicken.

Big time cherry cola. It begs to be consumed. I popped and poured but my next bottle will get 2 hrs of breathing. Rich, complex, silky. May still improve. Drink through 2019. Bravo Tom and Family.

This is similar to the 2009 Dehlinger High Plains Pinot, that is, absolutely fantastic. 2009 appears to have been a stellar year for Dehlinger Pinot. Let this breathe for an hour. Again, like the High Plains, the depth of flavor is amazing! It is lush, almost syrupy and slightly sweet with very dark fruit. It tasted very mature, not old, and is outstanding. Unlike the High Plains (1 more :)), I do not have any more Goldridge. :( As usual, Tom & his crew come through!

Beautiful wine, strong floral bouquet but not overwhelming. Light acidity which made it a very balanced wine in my book. Light chocolate and silky texture. Wonderful, wonderful wine from Dehlinger. The Goldridge Vineyard always delivers!

I like everything about this wine except the finish. I don't know if it's in a bad spot, is too young, or is just very hot (14.9% abv) and oaky as part of its style. Definitely a big, bold, dark Pinot. Nice nose of berry, cherry, violets, barnyard, oak (cedar, smoke, vanilla). Lots of fruit and spice on the palate. The finish starts off smooth and mellow, but finishes very hot and oaky, smoky, harsh. This is my first Dehlinger, so I don't know if this is representative or not. The style seems very Central Coast to me, rather than Sonoma Coast. Update Sep 14, 2013: tried in 2 different PN glasses - Eisch & Riedel; tried Eisch with and without vigorous decant. Surprisingly, the finish is a bit smoother in the Riedel glass. Still hot - maybe just the alcohol level, but not as bad as 3 weeks ago. A nice Pinot, but for me the alcohol level is high. Maybe better in a couple more years when the oak influence is tempered somewhat...

Popped and poured; medium ruby. Intense nose of raspberry and strawberry with some spicy quality. Classic rich, silky RRV palate with a lovely smooth finish; superb and probably the best bottling of this cuvee I have tasted. Doesn't appear this will get better with age but in no danger of cracking up. Lovely.

This medium-to-deep ruby Pinot continues to sport intense raspberry, black cherry, rose petal, lavender and smoke aromas. The full-bodied, fresh palate follows with similar flavors in a frame of medium-weight, sweet tannins and well-integrated alcohol (14.9%). Solid in the middle, it concludes with a long finish. Last tasted less than five months ago, I simply could not wait any longer to enjoy it again. This producer does not know how to make anything other than delicious wine! Drink now-2018.

Outstanding Goldridge Pinot. Tart cherry and strawberry fruit, great acidity. Delicious now, Can't wait to taste this wine as it ages. Drank along side a 2009 Sea Smoke Southing at a wine dinner among others (tasted blind) The Dehlinger was the clear favorite.

Medium-to-deep ruby in color, this Pinot is at the head of the New-World class. Raspberry, black cherry, rose petals, lavender and smoke grace the nose and palate. Broad-shouldered for a Pinot, this wine somehow carries off the 14.9% alcohol in seamless fashion. The medium-weight tannins are fine-grained and the middle palate is not lacking. Lengthy on the finish, it leaves the taster yearning for more. Enjoy this gem over the next 5+ years. Drink now-2018.

A gorgeous Pinot Noir! Nice balance, with raspberry dominating but strawberry and may be some almonds. Light on the earthiness, and not very acidic. It is a beautiful wine that will pair with a wide range of foods. I picked up some smoke as previous taster mentioned.

This wine was popped and poured, then serially tasted with wild Pacific salmon. The robe is medium-to-deep ruby and the nose shows immediately expressive aromas of raspberry, caramel, potpourri and smoke. Medium-bodied on the palate, with medium acidity, medium sweet tannins, well-integrated alcohol (despite being listed as a whopping 14.9%!) and flavors mirroring the nose. The middle palate is solid and the smooth finish is lengthy. I defy anyone to tell me that Dehlinger is not on your list of top three New-World Pinot producers. Tom Dehlinger is the California equivalent of Lalou Bize-Leroy. Do not misunderstand me...the wines are very different despite the commonality of being made from the same grape. But the passion and the end product are, in my opinion, quite comparable in terms of quality. Drink this one now or anytime before 12/18.

Popped and poured. Rich red cherry and spice nose. Surprisingly for the Goldridge this comes across as a bit ponderous, round with almost a candied sweetness or sappiness and not enough supporting acidity. Excellent concentration and ripe tannins suggest that this is a good mid-term ager.
