Decanted 2 hours before serving. Medium yellow with a glint of green. Some residual sulfur, iodine, kelp, and citrus aromas. Really fantastic texture for a village Chablis. The flavors are a combination of lemon, apple, and the salty sea notes with average acidity. What is different from past tastings is that any wood I noted before has been fully absorbed. All told, this leans toward a riper vintage profile. The concentration, mouth feel, and length are all exceptional for a village Chablis, and it seems to be drinking at peak now.

Light greenish yellow. Neutral oak and sea spray aromas. Lush, ripe entry with yellow apple and pear followed by a woody finale that is reasonably saline. This just seems too round and soft, and there is no denying the heavy oak base, which is overdone for me. All of that wood gives it an unusually velvety feel but at a real cost. This is one of those Raveneau wines that veers off in a richer Côte de Beaune direction.
Better the next night. More oyster shell and honeysuckle, less overrun by wood, and less ponderous.

PnP, chilled, and improved as it aired out. A crowd pleaser, even at the Village level... A medium plus bodied wine, with plenty of lemon (juice and crème), minerality, some apple and pear, and mouth-cleansing juicy acidity. Ready to drink now, but give it air, and you will be amply rewarded. However, questionable QPR at the $100 and over U.S. retail price. Should hold for several years.

Sadly, this bottle seemed a bit more mature than fit to be, and I understand that's quite rare with Raveneau, but here we are. Still enjoyable, but lacking a vivacity. Perhaps it was in a transitional state? Only the beginning of honey but more oxidative.

Very impressed at the quality of this wine given it is a Chablis designation. Drinks like a 1er and still very youthful in both appearance and taste at 8yrs old. Full body for Chablis, rich, good acid but rounder than expected for Chablis, nice minerality and decent finish.

A shade lighter than the Dauvissat. Broader with more wood than the Dauvissat village wine. Some sulfur that dissipated. More pear than citrus, obvious oak, lower acidity. As always, as much Raveneau as a Chablis signature-a stylistic preference that everyone needs to decide for themselves. For me tonight, my vote went to the Dauvissat, but others at the table disagreed.

Klar, strågul. Milde toner av kalk, moden sitrus, lett fersken og en steinete mineralitet. Bløt, godt modnet og aromatisk frukt. Tenderer mot viskøs tekstur. Mild fruktsødme. Frisk syre. Fin lengde med lett, saltaktig mineralitet.

While aromatically both impeccably correct and impressive for its expression and depth, I feel the real statement is made on the palate. I find this Chardonnay to have the mouthfeel of a red wine, which is quite amazing considering the lowish (12.5 %) alcohol content and the absolutely fine (discreet) use of oak. Not as energetic, layered or weightless as the Butteaux of same vintage but obviously not like any other village Chablis. Bone dry, rich and extremely satisfying in the most salty fashion. I found this not the easiest of wines in terms of food pairing, but when paired correctly it is quite rewarding. I guess it is a matter of taste, but due to mostly the more careful use of oak I easily prefer this over Dauvissat Chablis of the same vintage. Quite ridiculous that you can actually find this on a restaurant wine list for 30 €.

The 2010 François Raveneau Chablis is medium lemon n colour with a nose of fresh flowers and apricots, lemons and almost underlying green apples. On the palate, an initial entry of sweetness followed by strong stone fruits with honeydew and apricots on the mid palate. Acidity kicks up a little towards the end. The palate displays light gentle fruits with expressive acidity showing minerality and almost sea-shell like on the finish. Clean and refreshing.

This is a very alluring wine that opens into white flowers, nutmeg, green banana and honey, the tiniest allusion to mint, while still exuding a granite stoniness. Amazing wine; my Raveneau cherry was popped on this night of Jane's birthday. Great with lobster rolls! To be fair, Piuze's 08 Vaucoupin comes pretty darn close to this. At any rate, I love both of these wines.

Decanted and poured, this wine gave an impressive showing. The fourth vintage of this wine, the 2010 shows youthful intensity on the both the bouquet and palate. The aromatics are detailed and focused with lemon, sea shell, oyster, saline and chalk notes. The color is a vibrant light yellow that is youthful and appropriate for the wines age. The light to medium weight palate shows intensity from the youthful acidity and and fruit with a chalk like texture on the medium length finish. The wine gives the impression that it will benefit from at least a couple of years of additional bottle age.

DC shindig at Domaine wine storage – Arnoux RSV, 10 Raveneau, Chave, Rayas, Futo, Jadot 150 (Domaine Wine Storage - Washington D.C.): I wanted to blind this against the 10 vaillons but ended up tasting none blind. Sweet yellow fruit, oil, a hint of lanoline and honey. Although the wine displays oily and unctuous and a hint of lanoline which I associate with Raveneau, It would be highly unlikely to mistake this as 1er crus Raveneau as it has very little mineral expression and precision. I paid $58 all in and I would rather drink 1er crus Dauvissat. This is an enjoyable and well made village Chablis but not a good QPR.
