Surprised by the rich gold color, but it was neither as old or as sweet as the color might suggest. Stonefruit on the front, some succulent sweetness, finishing with tart green apple. Not a ton of complexity, but tasty, and nicely balanced.

Tasted two bottles of this wine and both were different as far as maturity is concerned. One was deep gold in color and oxidized with apple notes and lacking acid. Over the hill. The second was lighter in color but still a nice gold. It had more fruit but was aging and slightly past its prime. 2010 was known as a strange vintage for a reason. This wine is an example. 1st bottle-- 77 points. 2nd bottle-- 86 points.

Agree with 10/15/14 note. My wife & I shared the bottle. While delicious, was maybe a bit too much sweetness for two people to share a bottle in one sitting. Suggest drinking over 2 days or having more than two drinkers.

Peach and mineral on the nose. At first, the sweetness was dominant with only a bit of acidity. After being open for about 30 minutes, it came into balance quite nicely. Peach and apple upfront with good mineral qualities on the finish. Nice smoothness through the middle and the sweetness ended up being fully balanced by the acidity. Finish had good length and acidity, enough so that I think this wine should continue to improve over the next few years. Not as complex or as precise as some other spatleses’, but still showed quite well.

Light straw, bright. Ripe-ish aromas of orchard fruit, and brown spices. Lower acids than I might prefer, not very complex, but for the money, a delicious if not very serious Riesling. Good weight, clean, enjoyable; excellent with some traditional German sausages fresh off the grill (with plenty of hot/spicy mustard, of course). Drink before 2022
PnP, served non-blind.

Popped and poured. This is a medium yellow wine. On the nose, I got freshly-cut apples, some slate, and some citrus. The mouth is moderately sweet, but a little flabby and loose. This was better served on the colder side. Overall, I thought this was fine, but nothing to get excited about. 88 points.

PNP. Color straw. You can smell the minerality and acidity in the nose. Swishing though balances a blast of acid with lychee and dense RS. Long cheek coating finish and the acid is almost tongue tingling. I think that this will be uber long lived and may grab a few more to monitor over time.

Nose was closed until wine warmed slightly and was still not near as impactful as the palate. Peaches and cream, granny smith apple, a bit of pear and passive minerality. Fantastic acidity and tartness and just right sweetness that balanced with the alcohol. I Buy this wine every year and it never disappoints. Would like to lay down some bottles but it never happens. Too luscious.
Crisp citrus lead followed by sweet balance tropical fruit. Classic styled Spätlese. This is how they need to be made. The finish is a full and round flavor with a slightly tang on the edge. Slight diesel nose and flavor. It was even nicer that I bought this at a restaurant at half price which was a few dollars less than the price of the bottle I have in my cellar. I need to try to find some more of this to lay down.....it has years of wonderfulness to go.

Timid on the aroma front. Some lychee, honeysuckle, light oil. More liberal on the palate but still seems quite a juvenile in development. 5+9+15+9 = 88
Excellent layering of white stone fruit and some minerality, acidity barely starts to balance the sweetness. An excellent pairing for spicy Asian food, but I have preferred the drier rieslings from this outstanding producer.

Pale yellow-green in color, with lime, green apple, and honeysuckle aromas. On the palate, mild apple fruit, pear, melon, and a caramel note come through. Light acidity, which is spritzy more so than balancing. Finishes sweet.

Beautiful wine. Nose was closed until wine warmed slightly. Peaches and cream, granny smith apple and minerality. Fantastic tartness and just right sweetness that was balanced with the alcohol. Acidity of this wine was so nice. Served with a stir fry that had a bit of kick. Good pairing.

Honey, peach and floral note son the nose with lemon mixed in. A little effervescence that actually made the wine more interesting. Shoulid go away. This wine is still pretty young and will be better in 1-2 years.

Perfumed ripe green apples with white flowers and a hint of flint on the nose. Almost indelicate and awkward sweet start on the palate. From mid-palate to finish fresh apricots takes over and lifts the overall impression of quality.

This is the sweet spatlese with 86gr of sugar at 8.5% abv. Nose is rather shy but fruit is ripe with red and green apple and pear mostly. Medium sweet but still fresh, with more aromatic intensity in the palate than in the nose and a broad sensation as flavours open up in the mouth. Good aftertaste.

Nose is tight and focused with floral and green fruit aromas backed up by underlying minerality. Medium sweet with pronounced & mouthwatering acidity that balances nicely residual sugar. An elegant wine with pure fruit to be enjoyed over the next decade

PnP chilled. Clear, light straw color. Proper fruity nose. Typical nice, easy drinking Rheingau Riesling. Good fruit, clean, fun, not as tart as Mosel. Med sweat, minerals, decent balance, nothing off. $25
