Drank my last of 3 bottles tonite. It has been 1.5 yrs since I tried it last. Beautiful field blend of Nebbiolo and Barbera. Super yummy, showing red fruits from Nebbiolo, black fruits and extraction from the Barbera, somehow interlaced with soil, minerality, licorice, blackberry pie, wet rocks and sage. Superb structure and bright acids separate this wine into it's high class. Drink now through 2023+, it is delicious.

Barbera and Nebbiolo field blend. Extractive black and red fruit, with minerals and rocks, espresso grounds, anise, and cherry pit. There are nice and chunky tannins with tense, welcome acidity that almost seems alien in a wine this extracted. A balancing act, for sure, but a gorgeous and interesting drink. Drink now through 2023+.

Dark and brooding. Looks more like a Syrah and starts off that way. But give it a couple hours and the subtle notes of Nebbiolo come through clearly. In a good place Now or over next few years.

Opened and decanted. Reasonable amount of sediment, yet the colour remains incredibly dense and purple for the age. Looked at over the first night and again on the second, little change except for opening up a bit. The nose on this is quite primal, with hints of purple fruit and warm berries, with just a hint of purple florals underneath. Clearly reflects the influence of the Barbera, more than the Nebbiolo.
In the mouth this is very youthful still, ripe and fleshy. There is a touch of tannins to the finish, but overall it is a juicy, fruit forward mouthful. You would tend to think it doesn't have the structure to age- except that it is already 9yrs old. So no prediction from me on cellaring but for the €13.90 I paid, this is a tremendous bargain.

Brought this wine to Nicola's and enjoyed it over dinner for Bev's 50th. Very mineral-driven, with extractive Barbera-like fruit that is sappy and fresh, poured over rocks. There are notes of peppery spice, followed by violets in the upper register. This is a field blend of Nebbiolo and Barbera, but the Nebbiolo seems overshadowed by the delicious and up-front Barbera. The acidity lends gorgeous tension to the sappy fruit. It is just starting to drink nicely, and should continue to do so through 2023+.

Opened too early by accident. let sit for day, then vigorously aerated, and just beginning to budge. Excellent potential here- needs 10+ years. Dense without being weighty. black cherry, tar, lilac, dried lavender.

This wine has really come along and while a year ago it was teeth-numbingly tannic, it is now a beauty. Aggressive acidity that is just right with food, bright red-black fruit, fine tannins still assertive, and a lingering finish. Good show.

Pretty impenetrable at this point. Even on day two, the nose is unyielding. The palate is sightly more expressive but still very backward. The nebbiolo and barbera combination presents nice structure. Some very good material here. Seemingly, needs a lot of time.

In a good spot to drink. Quite seamless blend of nebbiolo and barbera but definitely medium bodied. Nice with pizza.

This was in really fine condition tonight with berry, leather, and tight tannin and acidic punch. I’d drink any time.

Opened and drank over 2 hours. An outstanding wine and well worth the $44. Hit just the right notes.
