I’m always trying wines that have been in the cellar far too long, to see how they evolve and fade. While quite oxidized, this opened up a bit after some air. It was surprisingly drinkable, though definitely not the wine it was. Experiment over for this one

My first Godello. I honestly had no idea about this grape nor DOC before opening up the bottle. It felt quite similar in style to some oak-aged Rias Baixas, with less minerality. Quite good a nice surprise

Never had Godello before and now will look for more. Drank with great friends from IL. Excellent combination of minerality/fruit/acid. Clean and crisp with a floral nose and tropical fruit on the pallet. Definitely not new fruit at this point but still vibrant with probably another 1-2 years left.

A clear colored wine with a slight golden hue that reveals a complex bouquet of aromas with pronounced floral notes, citric peel, honey, melon, guava, papaya, and crushed stones. On the palate the wine shows a silk like texture with flavors of honeysuckle, apples, pears, pineapple, citric peel, and crushed stones. A mid bodied wine with a long mineral finish, sweet fruit that is not over-cloying, a discreet powerful wine in a velvet glove.

i got conned into opening one of my newly minted 6 pack, and it didn't disappoint anyone. but it was stuck into the tail end of a night of debauchery without food pairing where it will show best. see a recent note extolling it's virtues. great wine, if not a bit expensive ($38).

Munskänkarna: Spanska vita (Uppsala): Pale yellow color. Oak dominated nose with some dried apricots. Powerful and rich taste with oak, wet wool and distinct alcohol but not to overwhelming. Quite a good balance. Reminiscent of a oaky Chardonnay. A well built wine with high concentration and good structure

Greenish tint, albeit fairly transparent, on the eye. Perhaps lay down for 5 years. Light Chardonnay and oak nose. Excellent minerality (arguably a bit too much) balanced nicely with acidity. Alcohol not apparent on the nose despite 14%. Unique. Losing most of the barrel and gaining more of the minerality as it gets more air.

This is better. The acid is more integrated. Nice cut, a bit simple, clean, and crisp.

This is tight and the acid dominates for now. I'm going to wait at least 6 months to try the next bottle.
