I was surprised that no evidence of premox whatsoever. Light straw color. Some lemon and Mineral notes. Good acidity. Not a lot of complexity but nice fresh finish. Excellent for a village wine.

3rd bottle out of 4. It’s funny how different each bottle showed. The first was too advanced. The second too young. This one was just right. The aged honey and white mushroom notes are balanced by the acidity. However the palate is a bit more generous and expansive than the last 2 bottles. Too bad they can’t all be like this. Excellent.

Second bottle was as it should be. Wonderful aged notes but with plenty of acid to support it. Served it’s role nicely as an opening salvo to tonight’s dinner.

Another bt fro same case. Pnp, med golden, nose of ripe apple, tangerine and also a distinct sauternes nose (honey?). Good tension between acidity and minerality. Nose is better than palate. Fair for a village level but pale when compared to its 07 incarnation.

Agree with other tasters - a superb village! Mature, fat and deep nose. Honey and bees-wax in foreground. Well integrated oak behind. Complex notes of linoleum, secondary aromas of nuts and chemicals. Lacks some freshness. Fullish, fat, perfectly mature palate. Lacks a little body in the finish. Bees wax, honey, ripe apple. With good acidity as backbone. Oxid tones of age - not defunct. With time in glass added complexity of mineral and nuts. There is more of both elegance and persistence in the taste than the nose. A very good wine in a problematic vintage.

Pre-Op Drinks at Kel's (Kelvin and Joyce's Place, Bishan): A truly superb village - served blind, this was several notches up from what one would expect from a run-of-the-mill Puligny. It had beautiful nose; pure Leflaive, showing wreathes of gunflint and smoke, lovely mineral notes, with sweet lemons and tangy kumquat aromas, and then something floral and appley buried underneath. A deep, entrancing, almost pungent bouquet. The palate had really lovely depth for a straight village, with a rich, fleshy attack of more kumquats and lemons, and then a midpalate of ripe apple flavours streaked with lovely seams of mineral and flint. In spite of its rich weight, there was a good bit of bright acidity weaving its way around the wine and into a juicy kumquat and calimansi finish. Not the longest here, but there was a nice fleshiness to it. This was really solidly put together for a village. Blind, we were quite certain it was at least a good 1er Cru. This is just about coming into a really nice drinking window I think.

Pale yellow/straw colour I'd expected a little deeper colour, delicate nose and a lemony mineral nutty taste a long finish too. I rather like it, not as fat as some Pulignys but good all the same. Will drink my other bottle in the next few weeks/months.

Very light straw color. The wine was absolutely closed, both on the nose and on the palate. Over 4 hours, whether colder or warmer, decanted or not, it was honestly like drinking water.

Closed. Clear hazelnut and butter up front, lots of stuffing in the back, and good minerality, but not giving anything up. Hold for many years and hope it doesn't premox in the meantime.

The aromatics on this wine were classic Domaine Leflaive offering roasted almonds, buttered popcorn and wet stones. I love the consistency of this domaine. The palate on this wine is tight and somewhat tart. There is fruit but I got the sense that this wine was harvested on the green side and lacks the ripeness of fruit in other vintages (for example the '02). Still, the wine has such an attractive olfactory display that you tend to get lost in the nose and the palate does its thing. Good with food I would be a drinker, not a holdder of this wine.

Trip to Burgundy; 3/20/2006-3/24/2006 (Burgundy): Tasting at the domaine. Rich stone fruit start, followed by a more complex and leaner finish with peach and candied lemon peel. Good+ length and weight.

Superbly elegant flinty nose that oozes grandeur. Rich golden apples with grapefruits and gripping minerality. At least a 1er cru level.

Clearly emerged. Right at the point where the wine is lively and full while having the marked secondaries that only come from white Burgs.

Surprisingly complex, strong minerality. Acid a bit to snappy for my liking.

Drunk 11 December 2009. Was showing very well, very typical Domaine Leflaive and an excellent example of a village Puligny Montrachet. Very good
