Perlant marqué à l'ouverture. Un beau Morgon au fruit encore frais et fringuant, avec une belle minéralité, une bonne concentration. C'est délicieux! Un vin plus complet que le 2005. 91 pts

No sulfites added. This is still singing. It has lost its baby fat and has coe out trim and supple. Ok, there is the brett and volatility but behind that so much crunchy red and black forest berries and a purity which transcends all the winemaking "errors". Like drinking fresh berry juice - my favorite natural wine so far by a long way. Thanks GG for this lovely present!

A little spritzy at first, but settles down nicely after an hour or so. Drinking really well, and the fruit / heat is totally in check. Silky smooth with red fruit that's just a little on the dark side. So good.

90+ pts

Blind tasted. Guessed a 2009 thanks for the supple fruit. Elegant, Pinot-like nose. Bright palate with good acidity and red forest fruit. I found this very refreshing and delightful but much less complex than the last time I tried it. It seems to be losing its primal quality and shutting down somewhat.

Nez sur la retenue. Des arômes discrets de fraises des champs. Très belle tenue en bouche, moins puissant que d'autres 2009 mais avec beaucoup de finesse, équilibré et charmeur.

Beautiful again. Ripe red fruit with a wonderful velvet smooth texture and beautiful juicy acidity. This time I got to enjoy with a lot of well prepared cajun style food and it paired very well. I think I could drink this everyday if I had the chance.

Very pretty fruit showing strawberries, tart cherries and meat with some nuances of spice and minerality. Soft and velvety smooth on the palate with good lively acid makes this so fun and easy to drink. Good intensity and very good length with a saline minerality.

From memory. Really nice..juicy red/black berries with minerals, a bit of earth, and just nice depth. Does that thing of having both lightness, liveliness and depth. Really nice finish. Really nice drink.

I drank this based on sommelier recommendation at Chez Panisse. It was served chilled to about 50 degrees, which I would recommend for reasons mentioned below. Strong berry-like bouquet and flavor. Highly memorable and unique nose, flavor and finish. The chill brought out a slight sparkle on the tongue and tempered some of the wine's inherent funk. The former was lacking in subsequent tastings of this wine at room temperature, and the latter was present. Pairs well with Thanksgiving type foods: hams, gamey meats, cranberry, etc. I ate this with a savory squab, but think this wine worked better with ham, also at the table.

purple, quite transparent. nose of cherry, iron. light-bodied with piercing acidity. more of a soft drink than wine as I am used to...but very pleasant with food.

September 09 bottling. Decanted 1 hour. Light purple. Monster nose of red currants, prunes, strawberries, meat, leather and white chocolate. Wow, this is enticing! The mouth is more closed and mineral showing crispy acidity and very thirst-quenching. It may need a bit more time for the palate to open up but you need cool temperatures to store this wine. What impressed me about it was the lack of stinky aromas which I have tasted before in non-sulfur wines, this has real purity. This was my first wax-sealed bottle and I must admit to being an amateur at removing the wax. I tried cutting it away with the blade of the corkscrew which was messy and will try chipping away at it with a light tack hammer next time...
Etherial, seamless, effortless. Rich aromas of boysenberry, spice, sweet vanilla and funk. Very mineral, with great balance, and considerable acidity. More Lapierre than beaujolais. Pure.

Un joli Morgon à n'en pas douter, mais tout de même un brin "bonbon" dans son expression aromatique. Il m'a moins impressionné que par le passé.

Why beat around the bush? Beautiful red and blue fruit, spice and some herbs bound together by crisp acidity. Reference wine.
