Last of 3 bottles - initially thought over the hill but with 30 minutes+ of air this wine was nice - I would drink this in the next 1-3 years as the fruit is starting to dry out.
Dark red/brown color. Barolo like on nose & palate - sour cherry, menthol, savory tobacco, sweet cherry/dried cherry - similar on nose & palate.
Medium+acidity, full tannins and verly long finish. I really enjoyed but would drink sooner rather than later as the tannins are still ripping (great with food though) and I don't think the fruit will last that much longer. 92+/-

Great Brunello! Earth, chocolate, medium to full body, clove, balsamic note, well integrated and balanced oak, chewy soft tannins, great long aftertaste! My first Brunello of this winery, will look for more

Decanted for 2 hours. Light to medium red color and throwing a touch of sediment. Didn't take notes but traditional Brunello nose (sour cherry, black cherry, menthol, herbs) and similar flavor profile on palate. This was great on night 2 as well. Medium body, medium tannins & high acidity. Great balance and very approachable. Not bad for a "weak" vintage. 92+/-
91 points today... 94 points tomorrow. Delicious bouquet from the glass... Dried red cherries, tobacco, Asian spice, and English tea. A bit of a saline finish with good acidity and tannic structure. Good with food now, but you will be rewarded if you wait. Decanted for 30 minutes and consumed over the next 3 hours.

I'm at a solid 93 for this bottle. One is fantastic aromatics, cedar, olives, dried red fruit that pops out of the glass with a quick swirl. Second is the firm tannins that will give this some longevity yet decanting and pairing with homemade pizza was a match made in heaven. Third is the long satisfying finish that lingers after each sip. I've been buying every vintage from this producer since 2004 and time to grab some 2011's as they deliver every damn year, good or mediocre vintages.

Tasted at the winery, from Coravin. See EricGuido's note, this is a solid wine in a pretty forgotten vintage. Full, fresh and structured with just the slightest edge of darker red fruits. The tannins are fine and sweet, the finish is medium(+). 15,0% abv. (resolved), let this rest a few more years yet for some tertiary to take hold. recommended
Served non-bilnd.

Beautiful brunello. Rich red/black fruit with a nice underlying acidity. It is very plush on the palate but very balanced. Typical aromas of licorice, tanned leather and spice as well.

Bouquet of dark cherry, leather, caramel, wet wood, ethanol. I'm picking up a decent amount of alcohol too. The wine tastes like a nature brunello and is very good. One of the better 2009 brunellos I've tasted. Nice depth and vibrant on the palate. Highly recommend this one.

Serviceable wine. Drank over several days. Nice light body starting to thin out at the edges. Raspberry and strawberry. Appearance and body seem very varietally correct. However, some unresolved tannins and even more noticeable is the undesirable heat. 2009 was not a perfect vintage but it wasn't bad, so perhaps this bottle needs some time. I usually expect more from this excellent producer.

Tuesday Night Double Blind $40+ (Bin 75): Pretty crimson with slight orange in rim, see through; deep rose, dried cherry, cedar, clay, fuller and denser nose; silky palate, high toned orange oil and dried cherry, Pledge to a degree, firm finish but a caressing texture; very good.

Popped and poured with braciole and spaghetti marinara. I was pleasantly surprised by this. Nice aroma of raspberry and strawberry with a hint of cocoa. Taste had the earthiness and strawberry that I've come to expect in BdM. It may have finished slightly shorter than a better vintage, but this was quite nice.

I walked into the house after a long stressful Tuesday at work and my wife was in the kitchen sauteing garlic, tomatoes, onions as a base over Captains cut cod. The aromas made me head for the cellar instead of the day-to-day Chianti's I keep upstairs for Italian food and I grabbed this very young Brunello from one of our favorite producers. No decant or slo-ox but just needed a great wine to match the fantastic dish my wife was preparing. The wine was very clear and lite colored, almost like a pinot or burgundy. I usually hold my Brunellos for a few years where they get that red brickish color. Classic sour cherry nose and earthy elements this was very good but the tannins were a bit firm but not oppressive suggesting the usual 3-5 years in the dark cellar would really bring out the best. Paired fantastically with dinner, with each sip accenting the cod dish. Bravo to both my wife's culinary skills and Uccelliera's wine making chops.

The nose was floral and feminine, showing crushed strawberry, tealeaf, floral perfumes and hints of undergrowth. On the palate, rich, intense red fruit, spice and soil tones came across in a powerful expression of Sangiovese. The lasting finish showed notes of dried cherries and herbal tea with hints of tannin tugging at the cheeks.
