- Yellow gold color with medium forming legs. It's balanced and has flavours of lemon, banana and artificial banana with a light/medium body. Smooth texture with a short finish - Rally great desert wine.

- Yellow color. It's in total harmony and has flavours of cut green grass, apple and banana with a light/medium body. Juicy texture with a medium finish - Great nose of forest cut grass.

Tasted at a Nickel & Nickel dinner. This was paired with blue cheese and honey crisp apple. Golden color. Nose offers honey and a hint of lychee. Quite thick and sweet. Needed the blue cheese to cut the rich and sweetness of the wine. Has some notes of botrytis which adds a little character but the overall impression is that this is too sweet for my palate.

There seems to be a wide range of opinions on this wine and reading through the notes it is clear why: those who don't like dessert wines don't like it, those who appreciate the genre love it. Consider me in the latter camp. Nutty with orange peel, white peach, and oodles of verve. On the palate? Whoa. And then whoa plus. And whoa plus plus. Is that a thing? Rich, unctuous, ridiculous. Tart, deep, and loaded with body. Whoa. thedrunkencyclist.com

A little flowery nose, viscous, very tropical-- pineapple. Seems like 2006 was more refined and little more subdued (which I prefer). Regardless, mixed feelings around the table. This was either a like a lot or a not at all type of wine.

According to the wine marketing person, this is supposedly an American Sauternes. Not even close! It has a pretty color and the nose is a fair copy of a decent Sauternes, but the similarity ends there - on the palate, it is basically sugar water. Zero complexity. Glad I tried it, but the taste profile did not live up to the hype.

(Tasted at the winery) Certainly can't confuse this with a Sauterne. Done in a fairly heavy-handed style with little of the elegance and only some of the acidity that can make these late-harvest wines such a treat. Grapefruit meets creme brûlée with some citrus zest added in. Paired nicely with the French Bleu d'Auvergne the winery served with it. And its deep golden hue is enchanting. But ultimately it's an American "sticky" that becomes wearisome on the palate.

Though lacking any acidity, similar to the '05, this was rich and unctuous, without being cloying. I thoroughly enjoyed it! (still, not worth the price tag)

PnP, served non-blind. Bright, medium straw toward gold. Energetic acids, tangy, ripe orchard fruits, minerals, medium finish. Not so sure where this one is headed, so I'm inclined to enjoy it in its youth, while it's packed full of fresh fruits and punchy acids.

Bright yellow, lush, very sweet honeyed peach, caramel, botritys. It's been a while and I've forgotten what a truly great wine this is. By the glass @ Nobu San Diego. Almost ****+

While I'm a fan of Far Niente wines, I am not a fan of sweet wines. The nose is rose and honey. On the palate, I can't get past the honey and sugar. This might be a good wine for lovers of dessert wine, but it's not my bag.

Deep gold color. Aromatic with some age. Very sweet but full bodied. Smooth acidity with low tannins. Good balance. Flavorful. OK.
