  • 93 Hermoso color dorado; nariz de cera, miel y cítricos. En boca ésta botella tiene nervio y acidez. Por su precio, me parece una verdadera ganga.

  • Tonight's btl seemed a little more one dimensional than the first 2 but still a nice bone dry white.

  • Opened and into the glass. Didn't get this as cold as I wanted so we'll chill it down better for dinner. At at midish 60s temp, the wine shows a medium + texture, with apple, nectarine, pear and a zing of lime zest rignt through the core and into the finish. Some chalk, as others mentioned, although it's flattened a bit by the serving temp. Will be real good cooler with some tuna tartare and avocado.

  • Very similar to the previous bottle but maybe more austere. Very chalky, some pear and green apple. Bone dry, great acidity. Maybe not the most complex wine ever but I just love everything that wine offers. A classic Chenin without excessive and unnecessary fat.

  • There seems to be some question as to whether this is Chenin or Cabernet Franc - blanc. I don't know the answer but I do enjoy this wine. Pretty and doesn't have subtle sweetness of many Chenins I've had from Loirie. Still youthfully tight but more open than my first btl last year.

  • Chenin? I did not know that.

  • Pale gold color. Fresh floral nose. Zingy acidity on the palate catches your immediate attention. Fortunately this is also packed with intense tart citrus flavors of green apple and grapefruit along with a pronouced minerality. This is no pussy wine for newbies and probably will show best with food. Definitely on the dryer, less sweet side of Chenin styles. I like!

  • I love this wine's affirmed minerality, as well as its textbook chenin nose and palate. On the last bottle, I thought the acidity was a little off the charts, which is not a problem I usually have, but on this occasion it masked some of the chenin character. Not particularly long or profound, but always enough going on to keep this interesting. Quite lovely.

Importante vino.

  • mixed feelings. on one hand, the wine is lovely - fresh aromas that while not piercing or powerful, are graceful and subtle, and enticing. Rainwater, citrus cream, and that familiar wooly waxy smell of Loire Chenin, but nowhere near as well defined as something like Huet, for example. The wine tastes very good too, with fresh flavors and refreshing acidity. It is not very complex, and in fact the finish fells a bit dilute. I can see that this is an honest wine, and it is a quality wine, but perhaps this terroir is not a distinguished one for Chenin Blanc?

  • Really good. Fresh pear and apple on the nose with also some lemony notes. Very chalky with super high acidity. Delicious Chinon.
Interesting as it showed the same fruit as the '09 but more restrained and less ripe obviously. But the biggest surprise was the minerality (chalk) present here on that 2010.
    Bottle was gone quickly!

  • Let me preface this note by saying what a huge fan I am of Baudry's reds-- without question, I agree that Bernard and Matthieu are making some of the greatest Cabernet Franc in Chinon (in all of the Loire, really), hands down, without question, and I buy their wines every year without fail; they represent some of the greatest values currently available at retail. That said, I've never been incredibly impressed with their Chinon Blanc. In '09, the wine suffered from classic '09-itis, just a little heavy-handed, flabby, and hot, per the vintage, so I was really eager to see what they could accomplish in 2010. To be fair, this was a much more balanced offering, but it just didn't excite me; the wine was fine, but just didn't seem worth it's nearly $25 price point, when I think of all the other great Loire Chenin I could buy instead (Epiré, Pinon, Champalou, Janvier, etc). Maybe I just tried it too young-- I'm not sure, but I doubt it-- the wine simply wasn't as expressive or complex as I would have expected, particularly given my extremely high regard for the estate. It's not bad wine-- far from it-- but it just didn't offer any fireworks, which is what I'd expect from Baudry. And I wouldn't buy it again for nearly $25. If anyone else wants to cellar a few bottles to prove me wrong in 8-10 years, by all means, convince me I'm wrong.
