I've been sitting on this one for quite a while and it was definitely worth it. Excellent ganache with plenty of stuffing still remaining. This could improve over the next 20 years, it's that good.

This bottle put me back in my chair. It tasted exactly like a Rayas Pignan I had a few months ago. Beautiful leather foundation with dark plum and mild cherry. Nice herbal wrapper. Darn good.
Dark red plum color and good clarity. Touch of booze on the nose with ripe raspberry fruit and a hint of light maple syrup. Flavors of smokey charred wood, spicy red berries, medium plus acidity, fine tannins and a little bite. Medium plus length of finish with stem notes. Very masculine. Excellent complexity. Wonder what this will taste like in 10 years because it definitely has the stuffing, wonder if I have the restraint.

OK, I waited a year per my last tasting note. This is still a brooding beast at its heart. There is great Grenache fruit, primarily dark, surrounded by serious structure. Noticeable stem attributes play out through the palate and the tannins still rule the roost. I screwed up and didn't decant, I was impatient as usual. I picked up a couple more bottles and will come back to this next year, again. There is no rush to drink this right now, if fact, I bumping up my personal drinking window through 2018. This would be a terrific pairing with anything coming off the BBQ grill that's busting with flavor like sausage or heavily marinated meats.

Nice clarity within the dark garnet color of the wine. Aromas of dark cherry; blackberry. Structure surrounding this wine is excellent, while the rounded tannins are very noticeable, it's refreshing, so there isn't that painful grip. Nice dark fruit showing but not an overly ripened, sweet, syrupy grenache. Good dose of stem weaving through the midpalate for additional complexity. Mouthfeel is medium. Finish is medium. Very happy with the purchase. I have two more left, I'll wait a year before trying again because I'm interested in what will evolve as the tannins mellow and it picks up secondary notes.

I find that the older these wines are the more I am liking them.

Big fruit and spice profile. Sour cherry on the palate. Long finish. Smoother on day two.

Nice new world expression of Grenache. Good varietal character and not overripe.
