A treat, distinct mountain fruit personality. Depth of flavor and pronounced minerality. Boisenberry spice on entry, black plum and white pepper. Really in a good spot, would say drink now to enjoy the tactile nature of the fruit. Sorry that this was my last bottle. Future vintages moved to Atlas Peak, but I like this Mt. Veeder expression.

oh yeah. So distinct. An almost magenta coloring. Has the perfume and intensity of a northern rhone, but the high toned fruit flavors of zin. A really unique expression. The burst of perfume upon drawing the cork was a wow and it held that throughout. Flavors were piquant, a touch of berry compote and boisenberry. Was hard to pin down, very impressive. Ready now.

One of the better CA zins that we have had. Decanted about an hour. Deep hues with lots of dark berry fruit. Excellent finish. Great mix of two wine makers. Hopefully they will continue to work together!

An outstanding wine. Bought a case due to reviews and an in-law nicknamed Chester and a father-in-law who collets anvils. Wish I didn't give half of it away. Deep ruby. Wonderful luscious fruit. Really no alcohol or tannins. Excellent finish. Would be a top 10 zin.

This was a very enjoyable zin for me. It has nice full on the mouth feel but isn't grippy. Drank over 3 days and I thought is was best on day 3. Very rounded. A big wine with some finesse. There is some nice berry fruit and then some minerality and some sandalwood on the nose and then the palate is very similar. Great wine.

After reading the description of this wine on the website, and being that we are big Parliament Funkadelic fans (let alone big fans of Lagier Meredith and Pott wines), I had to try some of this wine (go to the website and you will understand the connection!). This was better than "P Funk". This was so good it was as if Dr Funkenstein himself had made this juice. So I highly recommend tearing the cork off one of these suckers - and "turn this mother out"! Excellent job! Excellent Zin! La la la la la...

14.8% alcohol. Deep purple color. Somewhat muted black fruit aromas. Rich blackberry and current flavors. Nice mouthfeel. Excellent structure bodes well for continued development. Lingering aftertaste. This wine demonstrates power and finesse.

Loads of mountain berries and spice on the nose. Like previous notes state, a very refined zin that shows the cool climate character of Mt. Veeder. Not overripe or jammy, but the fruit is in the forefront and delicious. Med-full bodied with nice acid to freshen things up. Not a budget wine, but great special occasion zin.

Three young Zins (Chester's Anvil, Bedrock, Keating): The nose is nice with raspberries, some bramble, a bit of sandalwood, no alcohol. On the palate, this is amazingly smooth. Perhaps the easiest bottle to drink I can remember. Not complex or deep but it is very tasty (mostly red fruits) and easy to drink. I am not sure how well this ages, but I would drink young. Very nice wine.

Coravin taste. A little flat. Perhaps better with food?

A very tasty zinfandel. Better on day two. Demonstrates that zin can make a very classy but still highly enjoyable wine.
