A personal fave from Yalumba. Dark, inky and brooding. Juicy and ripe black cherry, cracked black pepper, perfume, baking spices, Christmas cake vanilla. Age worthy for at least 4 years from date. Decant 30+ minutes.

Gave it another shot. Much more body this time. Darker, slightly jammy fruit. Not sure if it was the extra couple months or just bottle variation. Worth the $13.

Lots of red berry fruit. Tart and light. Not a huge body here, but comes across as a well made Auzzie table wine; Not punchy, but offers a lot of fruit, and virtually no tannin. Will go well with most food, and sipping alone. Don't look for anything too dynamic here...

- Garnet color with medium forming legs. It's balanced and has flavours of butterscotch, molasses, raspberry, hay/straw and cedar with a medium/full body. Satin-Like texture with a medium finish.

Pretty uninspired here! It was like having a big, watered-down glob of cheap melted milk chocolate in my mouth. I mean, it tastes ok & feels nice and smooth, but is it really even close to worth it?

Like other reviewers, I cannot find the WS 91 points in this bottle. Not a bad impersonation of the thinner end of Rhone-style GSMs, but a bit thin on the palate and lacking much in the way of complexity. The Shiraz comes through on the nose, with that little bit of funk of aged meat mixed with dark berries. On entry there's a cherry Jolly Rancher sweetness but it doesn't have enough structure to hold up mid-palate, leaving an unsatisfying mix of berries, leather and a hint of baking spice. Moderate finish, but as it oxidizes for 30+ minutes, the astringency picks up. At $14, there are better Rhone blends with more character for that price.

Grenache is the first thing on the nose and palate, but the wine continues to unfold. It is a medium body, lots of grenache fruit up front. Spiced red fruit in the forefront. Long finish. Will be interesting to see how this ages. Would absolutely purchase more. Typical grenache based blend.

A struggle to understand the WS rating of 91. I found it too thin and lacking enough complexity to merit such a rating. This attempts to be an old world style but falls short of a decent Rhone. Not unreasonably priced at $14 but not something I would buy again. (A point on 'like' versus 'don't like' and ratings. I can dislike a wine but still rate it highly nonetheless if it's simply not my style but well made.)

More layered and structured than many Australian GSM blends. Aromas of spiced cherries, blackberries, tobacco box and leather. Meaty flavors of big round fruits, baking spices and cocoa. Long finish.

Medium bodied, medium to long finish. Has a bit of a Rhone flavor to it, but a rotten meat element so dominates the nose that you lose focus on the flavor.

A classic Barossa jammy goodness. Black fruits and oak and alcohol. Nothing innovative, but yummy.

similar to prior TN's. Good table red. Flexible. Nothing dynamic.

Light style Rhone. A watered down St. Cosme. A 91 no, but enjoyable never the less.

Not much happening. Not even a good pizza wine.

Fruity and tasty. Full flavored in the mouth and extremely fruity in the nose.

Good but not exceptional. Paired well with the herbed tomato sauce and pasta. Still not a great buy at $20.

Completely unremarkable.
Light on flavor and little to no complexity/depth.
An easy drink that would be best served at a crowded party.
