Sunday at Ken's; 7/14/2013-7/15/2013: Much better than a prior bottle, not sure why. This one was classic (in a good way) Cal Sauv Blanc. The nose is slightly grassy, peaches, fresh country air, with a mineral undertone. On the palate, the nose carries thru nicely. Slick texture which is nice. Slightly oily. Good balance. Refreshing and interesting on a hot summer day.

A bunch of wine with non-Geeks: Light silvery gold in color. The nose has some minerals, a bit of hay and some lemons. A bit reticent. On the palate, this is smooth and works well with food. Less so as a cocktail as it is not expressive in style. More "Loire"-like in style. That said, this is a very nice wine and the crowd enjoyed it.

Light, pale straw color - almost Pinot Grigio-like. Very balanced on the palate, surprisingly so for a Sauvignon Blanc. Nice citrus notes, not too much acid, a twinge of tropical sweetness, and good mouthfeel. Just a very pleasant surprise to find fruit and tartness and acidity all in such balance in a young S.B. Very impressed with Mike Smith! A pretty wine in every respect.

(B) Much better integrated than my previous bottle. Tart citrus elements emerged that weren't there before. A nice clean finish with plenty of acid. Very nice. Drink or hold.

One of the better Sauv Blancs I've tasted in a while. Complex yet really clean and refreshing. Coconut, lime, lemon zest, some light roasted nuts, dried herbs and hay. A laser like focus on the palate. Great refreshing tropical and citric fruits. So much floral elements as well as a core of granite and wet stone. This SB has it all. Cannot recommend highly enough. Get this.

I see several references to grass in other folks' notes, but I didn't get that on either of the bottles I've had. This one went nicely with grilled salmon with a lime and black pepper butter. Mmm.

(C) I think just not my style of SB. Did this get ML? A bit buttery and creamy. The nose, however, is incredible, with wonderful citrus, hay, pineapple, and green apples.

A wow wine, strong nose of tropical fruits and pineapple as soon as you uncork the bottle. Paired well with shrimp pasta, and just a wonderfully bright and refreshing white wine to pair with seafood/oysters and to enjoy in the warm weather. Wish I had bought a lot more of these.

A nice SB. A clear golden color. A good combo of grassy and fruit notes. Very seemless & smooth. Light on its feet and very refreshing. Paired with grilled bacon wrapped shrimp.

Tropical with much more wood notes than I recall. I loved prior bottles, but it seems to be falling out of it's sweet spot for me.

Still very nice, but not quite as fresh and lively as it was last summer. I think this is a SB that is best to drink in its first year after release.

A great SB with ripe citrus flavors. Rounder mouthfeel than the typical Cali SB.

Nice sauvignon blanc. Citrus notes balanced by green apple and pear. Good acidity. Falls off a touch on the finish.

Very consistent with the other bottle and even a bit better as I got more fruit notes than grass which I enjoyed. A solid SB that over performs.
