I doubt I've had a 50-50 cab-mourvedre blend before, and possibly that's for a good reason. This wine is by no means bad (and is very much alive and kicking), but it struck me as a bit schizophrenic. On the nose, the attack and midpalate the cabernet element seems prominent, and while it's clearly new world, there was a cool menthol element that was refreshing. On the finish, however, the mourvedre really kicks in with strong but disjunctive notes of meatiness and rather over-roasted fruit.

Nose is thick with dark fruits and roasted meat aromas. A smidge bracing on the palate as there is still a solid acidity to this wine. Backed up well with tannins as both these grapes have great depth of character from dark skins. Would have liked a bit more of the classic VC red fruit elements to round out a wine thats a bit angular. Overall a solid wine that doesn't disappoint yet doesn't amaze either. Can't quite rave about this one, Chris has done better though I am in no way disappointed :-)

Tart cherry and red berries with a taut minerality framed by gentle tannins on the finish. In this blend the mourvedre seems to be showing much more to my palate.

Picked up this one mainly because of the blend (50% cab 50% Mourvedre) and because I am a of VC wines. This was a nice surprise. Very smooth and elegant wine with a very nice cherry nose. Even picked up some strawberry, coffee and chocolate (kind of like a mocha) aromas/tastes. Very silky and long finish. This one too went very well with our steaks! This one was the wine of the night. Will be picking up some more soon.

Popped and poured, drank over 2 nights. Black fruit on the nose. That follows through on the palate. Some heft on the mid-palate and a long finish. Tasty.

What a fun & tasty evolution! Popped and poured a chilled bottle. Figured we opened it too soon - it was very acidic with little depth. But wait, there's more! We left the bottle open & put it bak in the fridge. About two hours later we were pleased with how it evolved and enjoyed a small glass. The we let it sit out, open for another 1.5 hours. Evolution at its best! Slightly tart cherries on the front of the palate moving to a rounder, full-bodied and slightly tannic fruitiness mid-palate. A really, really long finish ensures you can continue to enjoy this wine... Give it lots of time to open up if you are enjoying now. Stems up!

Very dusty herb attack with enough fruit to make interesting. A pungent herb almost thyme like comes through with a bright berry fruit on nose and palate. Quick dry finish at first but then a long lingering finish of the.fruit goes on and on.

PnP at a restaurant as second wine of night. No detailed notes. Rich, tart, smooth, touch of spice. Very well received by group.

Interesting blend of 50/50 Cab/Mourved. Rich mouth feel, nicely concentrated black and red fruit. Needs a little more time.
