One hour decant. A mouthful of raw green pepper and vegetal nothingness. Empty on the nose. Maybe in a dead spot, but just not good. Calling this one corked.

Could use a few more years in the bottle, but after decanting and airing for an hour it was much better. Ruby with a tinge of brown, light sediment, typical aroma, good length. Very satisfying.

Still a little young but after a few hours of decanting was starting to come into focus as fruit began to show along with tobacco. Great with food (barolo braised short ribs and polenta)

Decanted for three hours plus and still not ready to drink. Some berry fruits, but fruit mostly muted. Tobacco and dusty predominated. Looking forward to future bottles.

Delicious. Could not decant as long as I'd like (only 1/2 hour), though did run through aerator. Deep ruby color thinning to a light red at the rim. Strong alcohol to the nose at first (but not to taste). Definitely not as muscular as some other Barolo. Taste evolved as the wine opened opened. Fruit come out more, with dark berries and hint on strawberry emerging with a little time. Cooking spices and touch of cocoa. The layers and sophistication of a really good Burg - at less than half the price. Goodness, I love drinking Barolo!

Gave this singleton a long 5+hr (virtually clean) decant. Cooked red fruits and smoky black chocolate aromas but remarkably supple in the mouth. Dense ripe berry fruit flavours balanced by a bitter cherry acidity - still a bit tight. Good length displaying elegance rather than power. Probably drunk a year or so prematurely before hitting its plateau which should last a good 15+ years from vintage. Excellent. 91+

Smells of beautiful red fruits, cherry chocolate, flowers, & slightly of alcohol. Tastes of dark fruit & earth with a dark tart chocolate finish. As it opens the fruit becomes more delicate. It is delicious balance of fruit & minerals. Medium-full bodied.

I love this vineyard.... particularly for me, it is one of the best in Serralunga.
This wine is the most elegant and feminine expression of the Massolino Cru's; A very delicate and meditative wine. A touch of baking spices with bay leaf, violets, rose and chalk. Serious tannins but not like the the other wines. Reminds me of a beautiful Barbaresco. Excellent Cranberry and strawberry fruit and a very long finish.

The wine was a complete mess. Pruney, off-putting. Down the drain.

Dried and fresh roses, savoury complexity, resolved but fine elegant tannin. Everything you could ask for in a cru Barolo.
