Unreal! Don't judge this wine by the color in the decanter. Pale Ale colored. Nose of a Rhone inspired white. Clean bursting with honey, apricot, dried fig and spice. Lush supple mouthfeel with great tension. Green almond, apple, saline, pear, toasted pineapple round out the palate. Long and smooth finish. This is a complex and rich wine. Beautiful version. Drink now.

first of two bottles. after coravin the day before i decided to put this rambunctious wine in the decanter about 45 minutes before serving. im glad i did.
if i had to guess varietals id assume marsanne, roussanne, chard in that order. there's a sweet tangy zingy acid thing going on and the intense fruit concentration and alcohol makes it a hedonistic treat. the age brings a little nuance but also some disjointed things to be sure. spicy food smoothed things out, as did the previous mentioned air.

This reminds me of a northern rhone white, pours with a slight cloudiness. More interesting than tasty...a wine that makes you think. Quite full bodied for a white.

Unfiltered and cloudy in appearance. Needs to warm up a bit to show its stuff. What I like about this wine is that it makes you think, it's very subtle and shifts around its profile. A real treat.

Seems very well made, but just not our style. Definitely not a summer sipper... a big wine, unctuous, very floral. I'm sure science would not back me on this one, but I was feeling that nearly 16% alcohol after just one glass. Maybe fat boy just needed some food first. Interesting, but not sure we would seek out again.
C's day 2 take... "Cat pee, alcohol and oak." So, yeah, we probably won't be buying again.

Perhaps the finest white Rhone blend not from the high end of the Rhone itself...much more expressive and integrated than the last bottle, big papaya and pineapple nose, blends with hazelnut and a touch of citrus. Impressive.

Orange rind nose. Ripe apple, almond, lemon, parafin wax, apricot flavors. Slightly oily mouthfeel, which I enjoyed. Full bodied and worth an hour or 2 of air.

Blind Night (Kevin): Cloudy yellow color. Nose of orange blossom and melon. Tastes of apple, melon, lemon, apricot, and peach. Full bodied. Rich floral finish with some nice depth and complexity. 15.7% alcohol.

Simply a gorgeous, big, palate coating white. Wonderful nose and taste of honey and tropical fruits. Love Sanguis!
