Golden yellow in colour. Remarkably cool and mineral on the nose, lots of depth, notes of yellow stone fruit, herbs, white pepper. Very fine and elegant. On the palate great acidity, again very mineral, powerful with good weight. Very long with a nice streak of minerality to the finish. Drink or keep. 93-95

I was asked to bring a white wine to go with a grilled hot dog party, but I was the only one drinking wine. Some elements of Sauvignon Blanc and some of Reisling, but a little sweet and green-grapey for my tastes. Pleasant, though, and with some complexity.

On opening, signature Knoll aldehydic notes of sharpie marker/wet paint, with some grassy terpenes in the background. Mostly secondary notes here with the primary fruit somewhat buried. There is some varietal Gruner spice, classic white pepper and a little white peach. Big extract on the palate, very weighty and a bit jangly... lacks elegance overall, on the syrupy side. Don’t see the upside in ageing this further.

Very nice. Fruity, which in this case means peas and pepper as well as melon. Also a grapey note, which in the context is a pleasant component rather than the dis that it might often be. Plenty of acidity. Drinking well now but was also fine after a couple of days open in the fridge. A nice match with broccoli soup and then chicken sausages with sauerkraut.

Diese Flasche war wohl in einer schwierigen Phase!? Etwas in sich gekehrt, auch nach langer Belüftung nicht allzu viel von sich preisgebend! Die Anlagen stimmen alle, man spürt die enorme Konzentration. Z.Zt. leider etwas verschlossen! 91+++P

Deep yellow, citrus, herbs and spices, good length. A very goog GV, lacks the power and intensity to be a superb one, so did not reach my tasting note 2014.

Yellow. Typical Gruner combination of citrus and green pea. Medium weight, not as dense and solid as some Smaragds, a touch of residual sugar. Not an austere style at all due to only average acidity, but some finishing bitterness gives it form. Very good and accessible early.

Apple, lime juice, lemon peel, minerals coming through. Quite peppery. Slightly alcoholic, but quite long. Not extremely complex, but nice. 3 = very good

Decanted 5 hours before drinking. Wow, happy! Last week 2010 a little disappointing, but perhaps my fault, because that one I did not give any air before drinking. the 2011 was Intense, powerful with spiciness, exotic fruit and apples, minerality, long finish.

"Cooler" nose than the 2011 Loibenberg, minerally with hints of apples. Slightly saline on the palate, good acidity, powerful, still more elegant and subtle. Quite Riesling-like, this will have a great future. 93-95+

Spicy, alcohol a bit obvious, good aftertaste; a long aeration, but it didn't help this wine sufficiant.
