Mid garnet red with little development. The bouquet is heady offering tar, liquorice, pressed red flowers, morello cherry, red plum, dried orange, freshly tilled soil and some dried herb/menthol elements. Medium-bodied, the entry is firm with a leathery texture that works itself through the fleshy fruited wine to finish with firm, compact tannins. Flavours of shrivelled orange peel, dried cherries and grappa/pomace notes are edged and lifted with the fresh acidity but not quite the vibrancy expected. A penetrating, linear wine but lacks the knit to be a Barolo despite its elegance and lift. The tannins also protruded, somewhat embellished by the hot pomace note.

Elegant nose of roses and licorice. On the palate, good balance between acidity and fruit, quite soft tannins, taste of licorice and something else. Very nice. Good freshness. Great length. This wine is drinking beautifully right now. No need to decant anymore.

Weekly tasting group #228; A mixed set fully blind tasted. (@ DJ): Beautiful bouquet with dark berries, vanilla and spiciness. On the palate dark and red berries, herbs and spices, vanilla, firm acidity and some sweetness> Overall a pleasant and harmonious wine in its young maturity stage.

Great wine! Needs to breathe for at least 1 hour before pouring. My friend called it a "Baby Barolo". Will continue to improve for quite some time I guess.

Cinghiale, continues to be of my style. But, I suspect it would also benefit from more cellar-time. To my taste this had a more complex flavor profile that had tannic roots, a fruit top, and some nice spicy spikes. While it didn't all come together in an over the top sensation, it did provide some nice reminders of why I like the Nebbiolo grape and where this type of wine can head.

14% alc; mid garnet colour with that classic lifted fresh roses along with raspberry, strawberry, tar, savoury note. Fairly penetrating aromas and as swirl there is spiced cherries, red cherry skin and hint of vanilla cream. Mid bodied showing plenty of spices and a fine powdery tannin. The wine has that modern styling, lingering in the id palate yet not that complex. There is plenty of bitter chocolate but lacks the integration and concentration of a good Barolo. Ultimately it felt a tad too sweet leading to a more gluggable wine which arguably is what it is intended.

Rhubarbs and liquorice on the nose. Flavor has blackcurrant juice, light chocolate, and a good bite from the tannin. Don't serve too cold. Appeared very much alive and kicking the first half an hour. Then taste as well as bouquet seemed to die a little.
First half an hour I was ready to give it a 93.

This was a perfect Langhe Nebbiolo. Seriously, a perfect wine. This truly was one of the best Langhe Nebbiolos I have had. The Scavinos actually lose money on this wine because they could sell it as a Barolo but they, like many other like-minded quality producers, think it is important to offer an exceptional Langhe Nebbiolo to introduce the grape to the world. This wine was amazing. Sourced from fruit in La Morra and Castiglione, the nose screams of dried cranberry, dried strawberry at an amazing concentration level. Beautiful fruit quality with a spicy kick. Violets and other bush flowers. Everything is in perfect balance here

Weekly tasting group RWP #325; North and the Centre of Italy (@ VD): In the bouquet cherries and earthy impressions. Same on the palate, good acidity and slightly sticky tannin. Beautiful wine which is ready now and there is no real hurry.

good finish, strawberry note but definitely a medium bold and for the price (20ish) you can't knock it too badly.
