Ridge's 2010 Dusi Ranch Zinfandel is at its peak today, bursting from the glass with all the generous blackberry fruit that's so typical of this site, its élevage at this stage beautifully integrated into the background. Medium to full-bodied, ample and enveloping, with melting tannins and tangy animating acids, it's a delicious bottle that's characterful without being complex.

I agree with ALRO's note. I believe this is the bottle's last peak year if it has been well stored. It paired beautifully with a meal of braised short ribs with a tangy sauce. Long finish with interesting notes embedded within. Drink up soon to enjoy fully. Note: I double decanted, 30 min initially in a decanter and then back into the bottle to take to a friend's house for the braised ribs. It was ready to go and then held up through the evening over 3 hours.

Even in a 20 year old cab I’ve never seen so much sediment. I let it breathe 45 minutes and as the label says, “the acidity is unusually firm”. Went fine with elk burgers, but not my favorite Ridge zin.

Ridge never disappoints....and this Dusi Ranch Zin proved quite worthy....probably peaking now but could enjoy for another year, maybe 2 if properly cellared. thick mouthfeel and VERY long finish. Deep dark violet color, initially bright on the palate, transposing into a very complex, delicious experience.

Quite delicious. Even tasted great the next evening after being open for 24 hours and re-corked. Nice medium to full body, on the dry side (especially for a Zinfandel). Not overtly fruity and too sweet - just the right amount of flavor. Enjoyed this one quite a bit! Ate with fish and then chicken and paired well with both.

100% Zinfandel. Deep garnet color in glass with thin browning rims. Stylish, dusty Zin bouquet. Medium body, warm fruit and drying tannins on palate. Some oxidation evident. No one dimensional fruit bomb this. Starting to fade but still very nice. Thin film of sediment in empty bottle. Drink up!

Served with home-made sourdough sausage pizza. Crimson/ruby, still good depth of color. Lots of sediment. Nose: plum/raisin, with just a touch of tarragon. Some fruit-based sweetness, very light tannin, cherry in mid-palate, moderated acid. Probably past its prime, but improved somewhat with an hour and a half of air.

With pan fried stuffed pork chops (stuffed with Fontina and Sage), and wild rice. Crimson/ruby, no longer opaque, but good color to rim. Dark cherry nose, strawberry, some raisin, clean and approachable. Medium weight, smooth, fruit and acid in balance. Medium finish. Worked nicely with dinner. Certainly time to drink up.

A fun big slightly jammy wine. With some more time I think this can get better. I'm glad I read some reviews before opening or I might have felt different on this wine.

Thin bitter nose weak body, some tart cherries and acrid tannins. Everybody else liked it so maybe its just me. Disappointing but I'd be willing to try it one more time.

Lighter than I expected. In reading the label it confirmed a very cool vintage. Spicy with lighter red fruits on the nose and this continued on the palette. This is somewhat acidic but I found the whole package rather refreshing.

Last of six bottles... sorry to see it go. Very nice again on day two... soft with slight floral/lavender notes on the nose. Flavors carry plum and cherry, Medium body and solid finish with softer tannins that I recall (noted) frot the first bottle opend six months ago. Got extraordinary good deal on these... would buy again at that<$21 price again in a heartbeat. Solid QPR at a $30 price point.

Interesting shade of mauve red, with some dried fruit notes and funk on the nose. Actually this is a feast for the nose, but I found the primary taste a little odd. There some tart berry notes, with some green mid-palated add-ins. Not that it's awful, but these flavors don't seem integrated to me. They're interesting, but not harmonious, and this makes it less satisfying. All that said, I'm a big fan of Ridge, and many of their Zin-Zin/Blends. East Bench is usually a Jammy fruit monster, with good grip, and a fine edge. This bottleing had not of that. Bottle said it was one of the coolest vintages on record in Dusi, so maybe that had something to do with it?

Dark red color. Heady aromas of blackberry and blueberry pie filling with some vanilla notes and red berry notes. The palate here is ripe and rich with blackberry, vanilla, blueberry, and some dusty earth elements that carry with some medium tannins into a slightly roasted fruit finish that is medium-long. The roasted/raisin elements detract a bit, but this is pretty tasty and does present itself pretty well at this point. Drink or hold.

We drink a lot of Ridge wines and this would rank in the lower half. Fruit is intense but seemed to be disjointed. Maybe we should have let it sit longer to mute the acid.

Dark garnet and rusted blood red, not opaque. This Zin has some dried fruit notes, that are not distastfull, but distracting. This is not the Jammy Zin that I would have expected. Very different from Lytton Springs or Geyserville bottlings. Almost has some port like tendencies, but is medium bodied, and not cloying. Not sure on this one. Well made wine, but may not be my cup of tea. I usually like Ridge, but this was very different. Will hold the second bottle for a while, maybe a year, and try then.

Distinctive Ridge vineyard designate blend... P&P; Suprisingly smooth for a wine this young. Dark fruits, a little smoke and earthiness are the first impressions. More complexity comes out as it opened up in the glass. A little bacon fat balanced the tannins, which still need some time to soften - but are in good balance with the acidity. This wine will be better in 1-2 years... wait and enjoy.
