Consumed over 2 days, stored in Somm du Vin, note from day 2. Appearance: Showing some signs of clouding near the edges, medium garnet. Nose: Clean, medium intensity with developing aromas of cranberry, spice, leather, and mushroom with a green vegetal note - broccoli. Palate: Dry, medium acid, soft medium tannin, medium body, medium+ intensity, 13.7% abv with flavors of cranberry, leather, and spice with a medium+ finish.
Balance: Excellent Length: Excellent Intensity: Excellent Complexity: Very Good
This felt very youthful on day one, the leather and mushroom notes I'm getting this evening were much less subdued upon opening yesterday. I'm guessing this is nearing peak, but should be good for another 2-3 years if properly stored. An excellent example of an aged northern Willamette Pinot.

Faultless, sweet earthy Pinot with lovely balance, reminiscent of at least a premier cru votes de Nuits, a Chambolle perhaps. AMW rates this 99… second best bottle of her life.

Boerne wine club oregon pinots 2015: served a bit warm which severely detracted at first. But with some air and swirling showed some nice dark blue fruits and some near mocha and caramel notes. One of the more fascinating wines of the tasting

Willamette Tasting (Knightsbridge - Northbrook IL): Tasting, brief note. My favorite of today's Shea 2011 lineup. Red and lack cherry, forward, slightly simple, but well balanced with everything else here. Perhaps better in another year, but then probably to drink in the following few years.

Visit to Willamette Vally (Oregon): Big nose of red and black fruit. Pure and fresh. Full and rich in the mouth. None of the green the other 2011s showed.

I am a Shea fan, and rarely find a bottle or vintage I don't like, but alas this is one of them. The best of vintage, and this Homer reflects that. A bit harsh and thin. Not much there. I tried two bottles, and both were the same.

Memorial Day Weekend & Eyrie South Block Reserve Pinots (Willamette Valley, Oregon): Barrel Sample. Wow, really rich and deeply concentrated aromas. Like a blackberry pie. Again with the impressive fruit that's incredibly juicy on the palate. Intense and absolutely delicious. Really impressive juicy fruit on the finish again. Surprising how good this is. Yes, this is larger than my usual style, but it's undeniably delicious. 91-93 points.

Surprisingly this wine still has a lot of life left in it. Well balanced with a long finish especially for a PN
