Brought to Insalata in San Anselmo. It was decanted as the cork was soft and the waiter left with the bottle to extract it. Started showing well within about 10 minutes with lively dark cherry fruit; medium weight in body; ends with a round and mouth filling dark cherry finish. Good to Very good. No evidence of decline, but probably at its peak?

Crimson in color. 14.8% ABV. Charming nose of red fruits, cherry cola, rose petals and cloves. Medium body with exquisite acidity. Fruit forward, plush and perfectly balanced. Cherries, plums, baking spices and minerals on the palate. The finish on the wine is breathtaking. Delicious wine that embodies everything I adore about Kosta Browne. Best over the next 2-4 years.

Big, big, big pinot. Heavily extracted blackberry, dark cherry and blueberry. Little sign of spice under the alcohol. Almost petite syrah-like. Several years ahead for this, our last. On this night, I would not want a steady diet of this delicious but fatiguing pinot... or would I? Still, a fantastic glass epitomizing the "CA vs. OR" debate.

Full throttle KB...expressive Pinot noir with juicy/jammy strawberry fruit with cherry overtones. While not for everyone, absolutely love this style and fun to drink. Silky smooth with velveet like tannins drinking perfectly right now. Smooth spice notes on the finish with a nice lingering finish. Delicious.

Very big, even for a KB. Almost chewy, mouthful of juice. Lots of dried fruit. Long finish. Ultimately, however, it lacked complexity and gets its score based on its other attributes.

Another really good wine from Kosta Browne but one day I need to do a side-by-side tasting with their blends against the Single Vineyard bottlings to see if they are worth the 40% premium.

This wine rocks because of its nose and its purity. It is so fragrant right now. We decanted it and tasted immediately. Smells of roses and a bit of shoe polish. Tastes of red fruits and something slightly waxy in the most pleasant way. Great color. Great purity and cleanness.

Pinot Envoy: Deep rich wine, could almost pass for a syrah. Dark fruit and big tannins. All comes together into a wine that works. Kosta Browne is really in a class of its own.

Pretty good with some nice cola and ripe berry notes and perhaps a touch of a root beer essence as well. While it was quite nice, it's probably my least favorite of the KB single vineyard wines from 2010 that I've had so far.

Fresh rose aromas with black cherry and plenty of rich spice. Red and black cherry flavors with a cherry cola hint, also plenty of sweet spice. Subtle heat at very end. Fresh and vibrant with a bit too much youthful exuberance today, I'd expect this to be a little more balanced and interesting in another year.

In a prime drinking window. Only two bottles left. A pity.

Definitely not a lightweight Pinot. We enjoyed this bottle during the Super Bowl with grilled flank steak. Lots of grapey and plum notes.
