Nose: coconut, mango, tropical fruits, vanilla cake, peach, white flower Notes: still very vibrant and lively. Starting to get a little golden in color, this Williams Selyem is oily and full bodied but does not lack the elegance of a great Chardonnay. I'm pleasantly surprised by the energetic and fruit driven nose offered by this wine. Without a doubt this is an excellent aged Charonnay but again this could well be a bit too fat and oily for my palate. Still has plenty of life ahead of it but I'm sure it should stand perfectly for another 6-8 years. Drink: now - 2030 Rating: 90

Pale yellow color, nose of apple and pear with floral background, apple/pear fruit, some spice and minerals, touch of vanilla. long smooth finish. Wine has aged very well. Our last bottle. Great with Ivory King Salmon.

Split the difference between village Montrachet and very high-end Sonoma chard. Touch of saline, subtle pear/orchard fruit, touch of baking spice, gentle minerality. Can go further, but don't see it getting better (doesn't need to get better as it is lovely now : ) .

Disappointed. Mineral, yes, modest fruit - no lemons, apples and pineapples - in the description of another cellartrack contributor. What I got was a hammer of oak. Why? Clearly out of balance, lacking in fruit, with a battle between some mineral and a seeming wall of oak (perhaps I exaggerate a bit since I prefer limited oak in the background).

Incredibly complex and lovely chardonnay, ranging from apricot and lemon to a slightly caramel-honey finish. Delicious paired with a lemon-cream pasta.

The Williams Selyem reputation generally rests on its Pinot Noirs, but their "under sung " Chardonnays are of the highest quality and should be mentioned with Aubert, Kistler, etal. The 2010 Allen is n elegant, extremely well balanced wine from it's redolent bouquet through a long complex finish of lemons, apples and pineapples, with just the right amount of oak to bring everything together.

Consistent with my last note, including the improvement with a little acid...this time in the form of tomato bruschetta...this was my last bottle, and I'd drink these up...

Seemed OTH when opened, darker color than expected. Improved with some air, but I'm reluctant to wait on my other bottle. Much better with a shrimp cocktail (and cocktail sauce) than by itself...

A bit dark in color and heavier in body and flavor than I expected. It may have prematurely aged as seemed a bit old maybe. Still drank well but not compelling.

Very nice chard that changed as it warmed. Worked as well with oysters on the half shell as it did with duck. The former with the acid of the wine, the latter with the butteriness.

This was certainly disappointing. My wife and I love the Williams Selyem Chardonnay's but this was simply not on it's game tonight. It didn't help that we were given the worst wine glasses ever to drink this wine out of at the restaurant either. Not too much on the nose on this. Hint of lemon and mineral maybe. On the palate,it had more lemon and mineral. Lightly oaked. Got better with a little time and started to show something. Perhaps if you have any you may want to sit on it for a year or two.
BYO - US wines (Skovridderkroen): Beautiful and powerful nose with intense exotic fruits, smoke, vanilla and dried grapes. Full-bodied pineapple flavors and other exotic fruits. Great wine but very US in its style.

Full bodied, with a rich, yellow tint. Pineapple, butter, and ripe, almost Sauternes-like notes on the nose. Excellent acidity on the palate to balance out the richness of the fruit. Still young, but approachable nevertheless. Would age nicely given another 4 years. 90-91+
Update: Great aromatics three days later. 91+

golden in color with a nose of honey and butter; mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with some very nice balance. This is not a butter bomb but it is not white burgundy either. More towards the former. A very good bottle to drink and I like it but pair it with something rich and creamy for a great match.

Still very nice, but not as good as the last bottle. Time to drink up. Very pleasant notes of vanilla and tropic fruit. Complex as always.

This was excellent. Really extraordinary bottle. Interestingly, had notes of coconut. Lush, great fruit, long finish. Still vibrant.

One of the very best Chards we've had in awhile. Pretty tough to find a Williams Selyem offering that isn't excellent.
