a "whoops, look what I found hidden in the cellar". A little thin as noted before. Nice nose but faded fairly quickly. I think it is close if not already past good drinkability

I think we are approaching the last drink date for this wonderful PN. It was slow opening and was actually better the second night after gassing and stoppering. Slow to come together. Good when it did. Drink up.

This matched really well on Christmas Eve with Norwegian meatballs - a wine of light to medium intensity (typical of 2011) but definitely stood up to the meatballs, which are mostly pork and veal, and the cream sauce that they are served in. Medium finish, nice nose of red and black berries with some pomegranate notes, too. For a vintage that wasn't particularly well-received, this wine is a true standout. It is drinking superbly in 2017, I expect it will be just as good 4 years from now. The finish was surprisingly long and this was a really well-balanced wine.

Nothing notable about this wine other than the fact that it feels not ripe, and is very hot on the alcohol taste from the start to finish. I am not convinced that it will get any better than its mediocrity right now with time. Would not buy again, even at a price point one-third its current cost. There are simply too many wines out there that are far, far better than this that I have drunk or would like to try than to waste the time and money on this bottle/ vintage again. Incidentally, tasted nothing like the well-thought of 2008 Beaux Freres, Beaux Freres Vineyard.

1hour decant- medium bodied, fruit forward with abundant cherry, above average balance, no heat, average finish, near prime with a good 4-5 years left on it. Well made but lacking complexity. Above average value.

Pours a light red with hints of bronze; it shows surprisingly clear for an unfiltered wine. Wood chips and sour cherries on the nose; palate of both sour and stewed cherries, raspberries, and a slight amount of baking spice. Tannins and acid are well integrated; mouthfeel is on the light end of medium body. Finish is intense, but of mid-length. Wonderful example of Oregon pinot.

at Bob B's 65th birthday party: Delicious wine, with notes of raspberry, cherry and wood. Fruit very full and deep. Could use some time but delicious now. Nice contribution from Jonathan

Willamette Valley Pinot Flight (SF Wine Trading Company): Light ruby. Cherries and smoky charred wood. Medium weight, smooth and seamless. Distintly New World style. Tangy, spicy fruit that loses some intensity mid-palate, and then the wood, complete with green tannins, dominates the finish.

A good mix of berry and herb, this felt a little young and unresolved. The pieces came together after about 1 hour, though. As usual with Beaux Freres, one gets raspberry, cherry and a creamy blueberry yogurt feel. More sage than usual, but it provides a good counter to the fruit.

Light to medium body, easy drinking pinot. Paired well with our black bass. A bit green and tart, but not too tannic and smooth. Not as good as other Beaux Freres I've had.

Willamette Valley for Memorial day weekend and a peak at 2012; 5/25/2013-5/26/2013: From bottle. This offers an odd grilled asparagus covered in balsamic aroma that I like. It's fairly soft and slightly green, but nice pleasing aromas. The palate is very lean, nearly thin in texture, and mildly tart with fairly soft fruit. The finish is really lean. Soft and mild with only moderate structure. Nothing compelling.

Memorial Day Weekend & Eyrie South Block Reserve Pinots (Willamette Valley, Oregon): Barrel Sample. This was all purchased fruit. Aromas are exuberantly fruity, like cherry and strawberry powdered juice concentrate. It's still pretty, though. Large body on the palate, and quite soft though grippy tannins and some acid kick up. The finish is tart and grippy. Fairly shut down. Pretty exuberant throughout, and likely not going to get too interesting or complex in time, but for a drinkable wine, it will probably be sufficient. 86-89 points

This is fine. Nothing special, a bit thin. Drink up. I gave this the same score I gave it the last time when I tasted it 3 years ago.

Visit to Willamette Vally (Oregon): Simple red fruit, sweet. Nice grip. Not as much depth as I remember.
