After reading the prior notes, I was grateful that my last bottle still had a good amount of life to it. Bright cherry flavors and good acidity with a nice finish.

Sadly, I agree with previous TN --- this wine is past prime. I love the 2010 vintage of this wine and previously had a few of the 07s and while not quite as good were still excellent. This bottle (my last of the '07) was definitely downhill and tasted like prune juice :-(

Dead, completly dead. Pale brick colour, sherry like flavour, no tannin, no structure. Big disappointment, especially at this price. No reason a 2007 should be this dead. Stored property since purchase

Classical Brunello from a little-known estate in Montalcino. Clear notes of flowers and cherries that leave place to more seductive hints of spices (cinnamon and pepper) after few rotations, terminating with a minty balsamic note. Elegant taste, with polished tannins and long persistence. A wonderful product, ready to be drinked after 10 years

Barolo tasting for Zuker's 65th b'day (at Moshe Zuker): clear, deep ruby clean, profound intensity of tertiary aromas of dry cherries, earth, oak-vanilla, light spices dry, high acidity, high tannins, full body, rich dry cherries flavours, earth, tobacco, elegant long finish. ready to drink and can further age 10-20 years.

Nicely integrated at 10 years, but should hold well and be improving for another 8-10 years. Classic nose and flavors in a traditional style, and built for a couple of decades in the cellar, maybe longer. Finish highlights still-grippy tannins and displays some mild acidity as it opens the kimono with age.

This was a lovely Brunello, and seems to be in peak form. Lots of floral notes on the nose with a typical cherry and lighter red fruits. Fruit fairly prominent, but with some leather and earth tones to round it out. Very elegant finish.

Had to finally take a break from our streak of Napa and Sonoma wines out of solidarity over the fires out there because everyone has their limit and it's Sunday supper lasagna after all, so let's be serious here.
This wine is gorgeous and drinking really well right now. Garnet color with transparency. On point nose of cherry, rose petals, dried meat, iron, black tea, dried fennel, and orange peel. Medium body and finish, medium (+) acidity, and flavors of cherry, fennel, black tea, and lemon and orange citrus. I love Brunello.

In a good spot now. Translucent, bordering on transparent. Light body with lively acidity, but well structured. Red fruits and floral notes mingled with wet earth. Very easy drinking, if not one to contemplate.

2 Hour decant, nice nose, almonds, spices, teath coating tannins. Wonderful mouthfeel that makes you want to take a sip and keep it in your mouth for a min or two b4 swallowing. Long finish. Tannins were much milder on day two. At a $30 price point I don't think you can expect more from a brunello. Great qpr in my opinion. Going to see if I can find a few bottles of the 2010.

Good brunello, ready to drink, not a lot of complexity or depth of flavor going on, but good balance, nice acidic finish, good Sangiovese flavor, not nearly the underlying fruit or complexity of a top brunello. But good pizza & spaghetti wine, no regrets.

One of the better bargains you will find in brunello s. Fantastic qpr. Cherry, dusty tannins, wonderful mouthfeel, found myself holding a sip of wine in my mouth for minutes before swallowing. Drinking really well, highly recommend.

Lots. of acid. Not much fruit. Some seepage passed the cork. Faint aromas of cherry. Some sweetness emerging after 60+ minutes open. Low key. Not very complex. One of us liked. The other was neutral.

PnP- Light colored, earthy/mushroom nose with hint of roses and white pepper. Tart and acidic with some heat and bitterness on the finish. Dirt and funk overwhelming fruit in this bottle. May improve by 1-2 pts. after 2015.
Unfortunately, no better on 2nd night- disappointing.

Did a pop n pour and this was singing tonite. Funny as I had another bottle six weeks ago and that one was pretty bad compared to this. Classic cherry and earthy notes. Drank in memory of our nephew Tony.

I also drank this wine on 7/24 like JS1056 and have exactly the same sentiments and score. I aerated it with a decanter, we matched it with great homemade Italian sauce, pasta and sausage which should have been a match made in heaven. I found the "sour" part of the cherry much too pronounced and also found the nose was lacking. I have scored this higher in the past when it was younger, one was from magnum.

very light in color. The nose is cherry and also a little hot. On the palate, there is red plum followed by some sour cherry. The acidity was very pronounced with almost no tannins. Also a little bit of alcohol was there. As the wine opened in the glass, the alcohol dissipated and the acidity calmed down but was still somewhat pronounced. Also the cherry came to the front as the primary flavor. I am still on the fence with this wine. It just doesn't seem balanced.

Simple and easy drinking. Light on it's feet and smooth. Not overly complex or memorable. Trademark Brunello characteristics, but definitely a lower-tier bottling.

Decanted for about two hours, which was a good thing as this was tight tight tight upon opening. Light-to-medium color, and not much on the nose. On the palate, this showed much better when dinner arrived. Earthy, classically-styled brunello, light-to-medium bodied. Glad I didn't pay full price, still might have been too much. I'll give the other two bottles a couple of years, but not really built for the long term.

Cherries, leather, and dirt basement floor. Night one showed a significant bitter hit on the back end, almost to the point of being undrinkable. It may have been better with food, but I had this one its own. Night two, and the bitterness seems to have dissipated. It's an okay bottle, but really not something that brunello as a region should be all that proud of. I'm glad I didn't pay full price for this.

Popped and poured. Very light for a Brunello, particularly one so young. It opened up a little as the night wore on. A couple of years of aging may help this wine. But it one to keep an eye on and wouldn't hold for too long.

Wow! I usually hold by Brunellos for a bit longer but opened this with my family after services for my nephew who passed after a courageous battle with cancer. He loved Brunellos and even during chemo I would share a glass with him so we toasted his life tonight with my kids and wife and this bottle was the perfect choice, even the name of the wine, meaning house of life. Cheers Tony we will miss you.
